Dermalogica

My new Dermalogica fav is the Skin Soothing Cream - It's so light yet so effective.

I love Precleanse and Special Cleansing Gel. Precleanse is a very good and effective makeup remover, it gets rid of everything. I'm also using Skin Smoothing Cream, but my skin is still very dry...don't know what to do about that. I think it will be great for summer, but my skin needs a bit more in the winter.

so...i went ahead and ordered the active moist...

not so sure i am terribly happy with it though...:ermm:...

hmmm...

I just re-read this thread as I'm thinking about purchasing Sheer Tint Moisture and Multi-Active Toner, and maybe Daily Microfoliant...doesanyone know if Sheer Tint Moisture is shimmery?

I've used a lot of BF's Dermalogica that I haven't reviewed. Also got some testers from hqhair when we ordered last fall...

Skin Hydrating Masque No effect at all. It doesn't hydrate anything, it just sits on your skin until you wash it off. I have very dry skin, though.
Active Moist Again - pointless for me to apply it, even in the summer. It's just too light for me. Boyfriend was happy with it even though it wasn't fantastic (he has oily skin).
Skin Smoothing Cream Very nice! A bit too dry for winter or even fall. But I imagine it would work really well for me in the summer. Makes skin very even, it must minimize pores a bit? Don't know, but it sure is nice.
Total Eye Care Irritated my eyes. No effect, other than puffiness. I have very sensitive eyes, though.
Solar Defence Booster Non-greasy, easy to mix with moisturizer, works like a charm.
Medicated Clearing Gel It doesn't make anything go away overnight on me, BF loves it though. Sometimes it works for me, other times it doesn't. Strange. I can live without it.
Soothin Eye Make-Up Remover Love it! Was addicted until I tried Precleanse. Gets rid of everything, no pain. Feels nice and cooling on the eyes.
Preclanse I can't stop loving it (or raving about it). I use it alone, without a second cleanser. It's a miracle! It doesn't irritate my eyes, it resolves makeup, dirt, everything. Massage it onto dry skin, wet your hands, massage some more and rinse...baby soft skin! Because of all the massaging, I rarely feel the need to exfoliate. My skin is so so smooth and mouisturized  I rarely get breakouts after I started using this. Boyfriend doesn't think it's anything special, but he doesn't need to remove waterproof mascara every night, so what does he know
Special Cleansing Gel This was the first Dermalogica I ever tried. It dries me out in the winter, but it's really good at a certain time of the month where I tend to break out. Can't use it every day, though. Really nice texture, very smooth and deep-cleansing. It gets rid of whatever hides in my pores :ninja: A bottle lasts about 9 months, BF uses it every day and I use it 5 days a month.
Multi-Active Toner Really nice on top of makeup, it makes my skin look smooth and glowing. Also nice after cleansing.

A friend of mine sent me some of this through the mail and I was amazed at how great it works on my skin. Before I had always used a variety of different brands of products but would like to look into purchasing this again.

Ida, I totally agree with you on some of your reviews.

The Total Eye Care irritated my eyes as well. My dermatologist told me that it's a common reaction to it.

I also have dry skin, so I changed from Special Cleansing Gel to Ultracalming Cleanser which is amazing! (it has a different consitency though)

I'm totally addicted to the Soothing Eye Makeup Remover, it's the best I've ever used (have used it for about 9 years now).

The Daily Microfoliant is also amazing - however you shouldn't use it every day - all year. It can leave your skin over sensitive. So get one container, use it up, and take a 3-4 month break from it. (and you're good to go again!)

Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque - another favorite if you have very dry skin. It can be used as a night cream if you have extra problems with dry skin for limited periods. (like when the seasons change)

Oh, another thing - I used to use Skin Smoothing Cream, but I needed something with more moist. I use IB Enhancing Emulsion III from Kanebo now and it's the best ever! It's cut from the American and European market, but is still available in the asian market. A great site to get it from is Strawberrynet.com (and they have free international shipping)

I liked when giving Dermalogica facials the Ultra-Calming Cleanser, and the Multi-Vitamin Liquid Exfoliant (when used with steam on older clients who are really lined and dry it worked great for luminating the complexion) and the Barrier Repair or super Rich-something...dont know, never used them on myself, but I Hate the Daily Microfoliant. I dont think it's good for sensitive skin or asian skin.

^ I have. I really liked it, but I had the light and it was a little bit too dark for my skin tone. I'd only use it in the summer when I'm not so pale. You get the little sparkles as with the non-tinted version and you only need a little bit. I'd recommend it if you can get one of the colours to match your skin tone, but as there's only 3 available it's kind of annoying. :/

Also, it probably won't be moisturising enough for people with really dry skin but if you're just looking for something light then you might want to try it. :)

I used a sle of the pre-cleanse and was so imprssed...a full sized bottle is on my shopping list!

Thanks! I'll buy the light, it's for summer anyway... I'll wear it over moisturizer, I have dry skin. I'm so glad that there isn't any sparkle in it...I am no fan of sparkle in daylight :ninja:

I gave my botfriend a sample of the total eye care and he got these red marks on his hand where he put it. Weird.

Does anyone notice a difference with the change from anti-bac cleanser to medi-bac? I feel there is a difference.

Ok just answering my own question. They did change the formula unless transiclan is the same thing as salayic acid???

I just got Essential Cleansing Solution, Daily Microfoliant, Sheer Tint Moisture, Multi-Active Toner and Skin Refining Masque.

Essential Cleansing Solution Very, very gentle. Much better for me than Special Cleansing Gel, which was way to drying. It's absolutely wonderful if you use it after Precleanse - I don't mind double cleansing, because they are both very gentle and hydrating while they get rid of all the waterproof mascara and other stuff sitting on my face. Did I say that you feel so soft afterwards? And it doesn't sting if it gets near the eye.
Daily Microfoliant Well...with all the cleansing, I'm not sure that I really need it. It feels good though, I wouldn't use it more than twice a week right now. Maybe in the winter when my skin goes back to dry and patchy. Boyfriend loves it though, he has oily skin and he says it's great.
Multi-Active Toner Still great. It actually moisturizes a bit. I keeps me from getting dry during the day - some get oily, I get dry
Sheer Tint Moisture YES! I love it! Gives a nice even glow, keeps me from going dry during the day, and it has no noticable colour as it's very sheer. I must say that it is a bit dark for me (even in light), but summer is coming and it doesn't streak and such, so it's fine. I think it has a tiny bit of shimmer to it, but it's hardly noticable.
Skin Refining Masque Definately not for me...well, it was BF's anyway, but I just had to try. It stings really bad on me, and i didn't really notice any effect because I washed it off straigh away.

i just tried a sample of the new age smart eye cream...
it's GORGEOUS...
it feels really great and it smells great too!

plus i love the silver tube it comes in with the raspberry graphic...

gotta get me a full size!..

Has anyone tried skin hydrating booster or skin renewal booster? Are they any good and what is the difference?

skin hydrating booster said:
Super-saturated hydration for the driest skin conditions, this intensive hydrating fluid revitalizes parched skin. Hydrates, smoothes and minimizes fine lines with a concentrated blend of Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol, Glycolipids and Algae Extract to restore moisture balance. Fragrance free.

skin renewal booster said:
An exfoliating complex of hydroxy acids and soothing plant extracts to actively loosen dead surface debris, smooth the skin and improve texture. All skin conditions except users of medically-prescribed exfoliating products. Use twice a day.

My problem is fine lines caused by dryness...
