Diane von Furstenberg's Pre-Fall 2008 collection was all that jazz. Inspired by the Harlem Jazz period, looks channeled Billie Holiday as plum and fuchsia dominated. Von Furstenberg incorporated menswear with vests and trousers worn in a sexy feminine way. The waistline remained high with wide leg pants and pencil skirts as colorful bold geometrics and black-and-white prints added pizzazz. A swing coat, poplin dresses with pleated sleeves, and breezy frocks were pretty and ladylike.
