For her debut couture collection at Dice Kayek, Ece Ege thought up a fictitious winter garden in which characters — “part-women, part-flowers,” she said — come to life.

Her 15 looks impressed with remarkable trompe l’oeil constructions, imitating flowers’ petals, calyxes and stamens.

Named Bluebell, an ice-blue wool crepe coatdress featured puffy sleeves and an impeccably shaped bow resembling the plant’s tubular blossoms. An origami top in silk organdy, paired with an artfully draped silk satin skirt, approximated a camellia, while one wondered how the Peony, a nude wool crepe dress with a large blossom erupting from the model’s hip, managed to stay upright during the walk.

“We struggled a lot against gravity,” Ege said backstage. How she managed to defy it? “That’s top secret. But there were a lot of wires and a lot of thermo-bonding involved.”

This collection was so underlooked...but one of the most beautiful! Some of the construction techniques are very interesting!

Yes it's true, one of the best of the season and i'm surprised nobody talks about this. I searched for the brand and i was surprised! her works are very amazing! The technique is completely exquisite and they are all original. (you know it's hard to be original these day.) You can easily see her signature detail on the designs.

Some of her past works

This is gorgeous ! The folding and cutting techniques are highly intriguing. I would love to see this in person and touch the fabrics because it looks sumptuous.
