Dior Homme S/S 2011 : Victor Nylander by Willy Vanderperre

Hmm... that shot with Bap is actually good... I thought it was going to be bad. Its good because you can't see his face! Its also good because it looks like the old ads of Dior Homme when Hedi Slimane was in charge. <3

^ I agree with your reference to Hedi Slimane, there is something about this that make it sublime.

i love the dynamic quality of this ad. honestly, i didn't think baptiste would fit the 'dior homme' aesthetic but he really sells these clothes convincingly.

it does remind me slimane era.
well you can barely see baptits face so its good

Karl's ads are tolerable because you can't instantly tell it's Baptiste. Prefer the vibe from Vanderperre's much more. This campaign is really confusing me.

i'm curious about the decision to feature a model that is so attached (if not over-exposed) to Chanel image in Dior Homme campaign. i've always felt KVA was very direct and precise about the type of man he addressed with his collections for Dior Homme so it's kind of confusing the campaign doesn't draw from his castings (which i think are quite successful and stand on their own in re-inventing Dior Homme after Hedi Slimane). and with this additional option from Willy Vanderperre which is totally beautiful and very much in tune with KVA's vision there must be some reason for Baptiste to score the spot apart from being Karl's personal favorite. anyway, it seems a bit odd.

^we must remember that kris van assche works for dior, he doesn't own it. i suspect that the lagerfeld decision fell a bit above his pay grade. and i suspect that the baptiste choice got made by lagerfeld not kris van assche. after all, karl has been part of the lvmh fold -- by way of fendi -- for a bit longer than kris van assche.

haha yes i'm sure that the kaiser outranks KVA but at the same time i'm not angered by the result. I actually really like the Baptiste ad.
