I would for sure get some white docs if I had a dress like in post #754!

New 10 eye oxblood vintage ones "Made in England" I mean...

so stiff..gonna be a b*tch breaking these in..:flower::heart:

Those look really great. Where did you get these? And this might be an odd question but what size (US) shoes do you wear? I'm a 6 (womens) and I've had a terrible time finding some good Docs in my size (in both NYC and Chicago at least. Even the website.)

mmm a 20 eyelet patent boot B)

I wonder what the max number of eyelets is?

does anybody know?

i think that at some point they made 30 eye docs but that is the tallest that I know about...

nice oxbloods! that'll be my next purchase. i still haven't received my first.

i've been wanting DM's for over a year. i saw the perfect pair at $10 on ebay, but missed it because i had to be in class. i checked ebay every day after that for a month and a half, but the only other listing i found was at $60. i finally gave in and bought it.

after a week they still hadn't arrived. i contacted the seller after 7 days and they said they had only shipped it that morning. still not here.

sorry to whine. i'm just frustrated because i checked today and theyre going for $30 now, this time in narrow. (should i get them and try to sell the others :p)

I love docs. They were my first ever "expensive" fashion buy as a 15 year old. They cost $190, which I spent forever saving from my casual job. I wore them pretty much every single day for 3 yrs. I don't know how long everyone elses docs last for but that is a record for me because I trash shoes (am a bad scuffer)!

I'm not aware of Doc Martens being taller than 20 eye (some I think were taller than others...with one 20 eye model number being similar in height to the typical 14 eye). But anyways, the company Underground made/makes 30 eye that similar (with a harder sole...don't ask me how I know lol). Take a look:

I wear size UK 8, but bought a mens 6 (don't ask). Although they don't exactly make my feet look small, I quite like how they look. I'm 5'6 so this helps slightly.

yeh i just got some yesterday and im a womans 9 () but i got like a mens 7. the girl in the shop said to go 2 sizes down or something. how awesome are they though i got those black ones too!

yup docs r back in london!

OK Im not even sure if this is the right thread to post in so feel free to delete/or have a shift about.

Anyways ive noticed that alot of people are starting to wear them again ... i just kind of wondered if this was a global thing or even across england .. or just in my city maybe ... hmm just thinking aloud really.

Ok so i just wondered what you opinions are ??
and weather people in your area are wearing them again ??

hi snowqueen i'm curious - what city are you in? because here in london, they're EVERYWHERE. the best look i've seen i couldn't shoot in time - black doc martins, flirty polka dot dress, ripped black fishnets on a tall slim girl running down the street with her boyfriend. attached are two versions with red boots which i'm seeing a lot of (not sure i like red).

curious about other cities! thanks for posting - i've been wondering, too (recently threw my pair out, alas)

I have been bringing Docs back & run into friends who coincidently have dragged their Docs out from the depths of their wardrobes too.

I think the movie This is England encouraged me to return to the look I was rocking in the late 80's/early 90's.

i've finally come to the conclusion that the DM should only be bought/worn vintage.
Brand new ones seem like plastic :/

i found a pair of docs that i reallly want but they only have a UK 8 which is too big..they are limited edition so they arent anywhere else..should i buy them a size too big or say forget it? ahh

^ ahh I hate that, I'd say forget it.. when I ordered my first pair of docs, I ordered one size too big on accident and they were so huge. it's really up to you though

i just bought and received the black and silver 8 eye docs (http://www.shoemall.com/product/Dr-Martens-Womens-1460-8-Eye-Boot-Black-154237/), i like them, but they make my feet look sorta big. i have a few q's...

1) is the best way to wear them in just wear them? that's a dumb q. :)

2) do any types of laces fit? i want to replace the laces, maybe with silver or with ribbons.

3) do you guys think they look best tied up or with the tongue down or messily laced or another way?

any suggestions or tips are welcomed, i'm a doc newbie!

i like them laced halfway and sort of messy looking..sometime i lace mine all the way up though...i would say replace the laces with another color...like blue! or neon! i wear my boots with dresses but mostly with skinny jeans now a days..or with a black mini

I think so. I got mine a few weeks ago, and decided to start wearing them, and they're (slowly) getting less stiff. I didn't want to have to wear them in the house for ages, so just ended up wearing them to work and Uni. They're never going to be as bad as high heels, just take some getting used to.
