i could actually see these for spring with a really girly frilly white lace mini!

i saw a guy weaaring them on the street yesterday with skinnies tucked in and a striped t shirt...
super trendy...

definitely a streetstyle trend...

i like blk ones with off white laces

i'm really dreading this comeback, i know this is always bound to happen to almost everything you wear..the old "ugh i've been doing this for years and now everyone's doing it" but seriously. i'd hate to see everyone in docks all over again. everything is being rehashed over and over, vintage this, this making a coming back, when is there going to be some really new?? don't get me wrong, they're cute, i wear them sometimes, i just really hope everyone doesn't start wearing them all of the sudden. or god forbid...they become the new uggs or something..which i doubt, but i did the same with uggs and they became huge.

Ok so i noticed this months and months ago slowly creaping back in .. now its a fully fledge full blown street trend were i live .. i must see at least ten pairs plus a day .. i know im not just imagining it anymore .. im noticing it more and more in street style pics as well .. and magazines are picking up on it .. time to get out the camera and scanner i thinks :flower:

thanks for those pics...i've wanted a pair ever since you started this thread, and just scored a pair of those MJ ones a few pages back! im stoked beyond anything right now. I also want to get a pair of 20 hole ones in black, but it's been so hard finding my size in them....plus i'd prefer to get the 'made in the UK' ones over the 'made in china' ones...

im so into the tim burton heroine style right now....winona ryder in edward scissorhands and beetlejuice are my style icons right now and dr. martens, MJ, and erin featherston are making my day!

wow, blast from the past! I had patent docs, black docs, low docs, mary jane docs, monkey boots... ah, 1989-1992...

I have both the yohji ones and the chloe ones. they definitely put forth a different mood... both are two boots I love to death and will enjoy for a long time.

^^ lucky you .. am so jeleous .. post pics of how you were them :flower: xx

im not sure if theres a chance for a true revival if the quality stinks on most pairs of doc martens.

production was moved to china from england about 7 years ago and the quality since then has suffered.

and the yamamoto ones cost like 600$.

having said that...im going to dig up my silver 14 hole docs out of the closet. made in england and of superb quality! bought ten years ago:-)

I saw them in American Rag the other day so I guess it's official, they are back here, too. :p

lucy, I agree, when the production moved out of UK (because of mad cow disease, I was told), the quality went to hell.

I still have a pair of UK-made Docs in my closet from "the old days." Not sure I am going to start wearing them again, though.

A lot of the ones posted here are variations on lace-up military boots, a style that pre-dates Docs by quite a bit; I prefer these, personally. Maybe I wore Docs too long last time they were in fashion.
