The first memory I have of Dolce’s campaign was the one with Tony and Linda shot by Meisel. This one is surrealistically and achingly gorgeous, still vividly full of mood and life. It’s the stuff of high fashion dreambuilding. So unfortunate to see this label regress to such lows 29 years later with campaigns that resemble a 12yo’s school project.
All of high fashion has regressed 29 years later sadly. How anyone who’s discovering high fashion for the first time in this current era can ever be inspired to be anything better than they are today, I will never understand.
This is the stuff of inspiration, and made you want to be your best. This was high fashion that was that made you dreamed big.
