Downton Abbey

^ Absolutely, I was angry when that jerk said thanks. It kills to see Anna being so scared of being touched by Bates and even Mrs Hughes. Poor Anna :( I sincerely hope this pig will be taken to face trial for what he had done. Although that would be quite tricky since there's barely any evidence. I feel so disgusted.

I know its awful for her, and super traumatic, but if only she could be convinced to tell Bates, and then maybe he could get others involved by seeking help maybe. I dont know, its horrible to see her like this.

It was great to see Mary getting more involved in the estate business, and stand her ground.

Anna's character is going through an interesting transition but I am getting a bit tired of everyone fawning over Mary the way they are....she is beautiful but somehow it's slightly batty the way people are going off the deep end over her.

^^ agreed!

^ i think you have a point, i love mary but yes, sometimes she does act so bratty. but i have to say, she's getting better IMO. i wish they showed us more of the kids btw! they are adorable

One of my favorite character is Thomas Barrow :innocent:
And Mrs. Patmore always make me laugh (when she's stressed)

i just started to watch this show. i already love it!
it´s just a bit confusing that time flies by so fast on that show. like on episode is 2 years. but it makes sense since they keep on writing letters and they must have taken a while back then

i am way behind on all the good television series, but i decided i am going to dedicate a month or two to watch some of them, and see which ones i really get attached to.

in any case, i just started to watch this show in the last couple of weeks, and i've blasted through the first few seasons, and have just started season four now.

a few impressions:

- pure eye candy! the frocks and settings are sublime.
- the writing can be very campy and quite hilariously over-the-top.
- this is an unadulterated soap opera. i hadn't realized that.
- what's the deal with pregnancies? why does someone have to die every time a pregnancy happens? does the writer have mommy issues?:P
- maggie smith, her ladyship, is a hoot, just a pleasure all the time.
- mr. bates makes me suspicious all the time.
- elizabeth mcgovern plays against stereotype as an american. she's so english-seeming, minus the accent.
- why are (most of) the men so bloody conservative?
- the world war one battle scenes were spectacularly shot. A+
- mary has the best eyebrows and edith is hardly as unattractive as everyone makes her out to be - sheesh!
- daisy is such a cutie. i want her to find a true love.
- anna and mrs hughes and carson are cool cucumbers. always getting it right.

that's all. will keep watching. it certainly has a hook that keeps you pulled in, at least so far anyhow.
