& I'll be there tomorrow..
I'll start my shopping at the Emirates Towers & Burjman...I hope to find good stuff there...I am afraid that everything is gone by now due to sales

the sales are rele crappy here, the prices are way more than London prices, my dad has seen that. I went to Emirates shopping mall, deira city centre- LONG QUEUE FOR A BLOODY TAXI, I GOT TO THE HOTEL AT 2:00 AM!!!

it is too crowded now due to Eid, X-mas, end of the year & the shopping festival..everyone in the Gulf area is heading to Dubai now...wish me luck..
I agree with you Kushie the taxi queue at deira city centre is longer than the airport queue.

Im in London now, I shopped a lot in Emirates Mall and I mainly went to H&M, Forever21 the rest wasn't even that great. This shopping trip wasn't really worth it.

they're doing a good job actually... I am loving the buying.. the stylist and the buyers are amazing.. I am finding more stuff now than when it was Villa Moda... will try to find the designer list and post it soon

There have the denim department with 13 brands of denim.. they have swimwear, accessories, shoes and many many more stuff.. they also have a men's dept and some designer kids... the chloe kids stuff r soooo cute!

I'll be in Dubai in late Feb. and my mom wants me to buy some Indian style gold jewelry (for my trousseau - lol) - can anyone recommend credible stores? I don't want to get screwed over and have them sell me fake stuff (which has happened to me once before when I went out by myself in high school to buy a nose ring. I haven't bought gold jewelery on my own since then.

I saw the link to the store s*uce - it looks really cute! I'll have to check that out too.

I'm so excited! Everyone I know that's been there raves about shopping in Dubai. I'll just be on the lookout for some unique pieces. I don't want to purchase the same designer stuff there that I can get here in the states for the same price.

Are there any Dubai-based up and coming designers that I should look out for?

stateofbliss, i dont know many dubai based designers but while your there be sure to go to these malls that you wont want to miss.. ( emirates Mall, Burjuman and Wafi)

stateofbliss, you should def get a top or dress from Essa ( not Issa ) - he is a local designer and is stocked at Sauce in Village Mall on Beach Road

I really think Dubai is overrated in terms of shopping, it definitely is not the cheapest place to get deals. If anything if you want over the top and extravagant than go there. Great for high end selection, although I think once Dubai Mall has all the shops done it could be really great.

Burjman new extension have all boutiques
Sauce - Variety of mid class designers
Unas in Emirates towers - Great mix of designers - JPG & bottega to juicy
