e.m. the new jewelry designer duo
After Viktor & Rolf, D.Squared, E2, Paul&Joe,.... the new design tandem is Eijiro Nakatani and Masayoshi Tobita. As the focus is strong worldwide on jewelry (fine and costume), it is natural that the new hot designers will emerge from that industry. e.m. is one.

Both artists, and friends, based in Tokyo, design with four hands under the umbrella of their jewelry brand e.m. Two designers who embody the Japanese sense of creativity and style, and, at the same time, who bring us a global contemporary vision fusing jewelry and art. After the big success in Tokyo where their store that looks like a contemporary art gallery is the place to be, the promising duo is on their way to launch their brand in Europe & the States. e.m. is disclosed for the first time in the trend spotting boutique Colette in Paris. e.m. is definitely the brand that has something new to say, something special which is not likely to be.

e.m. and Colette: ...a trend team to ((bring happiness to Paris))
For the first time you don't have to cross the world in order to buy e.m.'s beautiful designs. The ((premiere)) in Europe is in the place to be in Paris in the fashion mile of Rue Saint Honoré . The trend setters of Colette store anticipate the trends and started to retail e.m. from September 2005 on. Should you visit Colette, you will discover e.m. rings, designs and maybe happiness. ...e.m. designers are indeed convinced that their jewelry aims to ((bring happiness to people)). Another trendy spot in Paris, the contemporary art museum Palais de Tokyo, where art and fashion fuse, is highly interested to feature e.m. designs in their Black Block shop, managed by André . the famous graffiti artist.

e.m. jewelry : ...it all started with three rings, now they are shooting
Disorganisation, fun, asymmetry, broken lines and a sometimes damaged look characterize the style of e.m. The trendy and highly modern feel of their collections is always based on high quality luxurious materials such as cubic zirconium, water pearls, natural stones like coral and chrysoprase ... e.m. knows well how to convey to jewelry a high sense of modernity by contrasting the brilliance of precious stones with the strong and mannish style transferred by silver. Ever since they show off their talent through the designs of trendy rings. This is why the ring is today's the brand's ''signature piece''.
One emblematic creation of e.m. is a sophisticated three rings set. These three rings are symbolizing the three major periods in a woman's life. From the engagement ring with its solitaire to the wedding ring and the decorative ring typical of chic wealthy ladies. Offering the maximum of individuality and choice, e.m. now offers the 7 ring set. Inspired by contemporary art as well as by vintage spirit, e.m. designers create pieces that have a concept, a soul and an intriguing beauty.

The new collection of e.m. is more than ever inspired by the contemporary art. They create pieces with a big portion of self humor. Traditional setting doesn't hold the stone anymore, but tiny characters. The masterpiece of the season may dismantle itself. In this crazy ring a tiny character is shooting with a Kalashnikov on the precious stone. Trend and humor definitely works with one another.

e.m. world: jewels like contemporary art, and art in jewels
Exhibition calendar from New York to Paris
e.m. is style, fashion and art. The ''e.m. world ''can be experienced in exhibitions and fashion fairs from Tokyo, New York to Paris. e.m. design will catch your eye not only with the sparkling jewelry, but also with a special interior decoration, showcase and furniture, all designed by e.m. designers.

From 2001 on, e.m. has made new-collections announcements at the Tokyo ((Rooms)) exhibition twice a year. ((Rooms)) exhibition is famous for gathering creators with a great deal of personality, and it became more famous as e.m. is participating in.

The next occasion to explore e.m. world and enter into a world of modern art is ((The Train)) exhibition in New York (September 18th to 20th 2005). At each exhibition e.m.. invent their own theme and creates a fitting interior decoration. In New York, the jewelry collection will be displayed on a dozen of red big pig heads: a contemporary art combination that signs the style of e.m.

In Paris, ((Premiere Classe)) (October 7th to 10th 2005) is the next rendezvous of the design duo. Do't miss it. .

e.m. Collaborations: From SWAROVSKI to COMME des GARCONS
The modern and contemporary style from e.m. lead to collaborations with world famous groups like Walt Disney Japan and MOET & CHANDON.

The frequent and original use of Swarovski crystals in e.m..collections led to a participation in various SWAROVSKI exhibition and Fashion shows, for the Interior division exhibition (2002-2003 Autumn /Winter), for the Fashion division (2003-2004 Autumn/Winter) with ornaments for the neck and the legs of the models using Swarovski crystal to express femininity and powerful stellar world. Through these collaborations, e.m. soon became popular.

e.m. designers also had the privilege to collaborate with fashion icons such as tricot COMME des GARCONS. The designers imagine unique creative jewels to match tricot COMME des GARCONS most wanted looks :
for the 2003 Autumn/ Winter collection ((Knit with Jewellery)) the ((tricot COMME des GARCONS)) and in 2004 ((Leather gloves with RING)) as a limited collection for ((Colette meets COMME des GARCONS)) in Tokyo.
