Ed Moelands was born in the Netherlands where he studied Art, Graphic Design and Advertising before channeling all of these interests in hair styling. After his studies he moved to Antwerp, Belgium where he was greatly inspired by the city’s rich cultural and social scene. It was there where he first began his career as a hair stylist, enrolling in a school of the trade. Shortly thereafter, he assisted a number of world-renowned hair stylists and eventually moved to Paris in 1996 to begin his own succesful freelance career.
Ed has had the pleasure to work with renowned photographers such as; Peter Lindbergh, Regan Cameron, Camilla Akrans, Liz Collins, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Miles Aldridge, Horst Diekgerdes, Javier Valhonrat, Lachlan Bailey, Warren & Nick, Karen Collins, Bettina Rheims, Dusan Reljin, Ellen Von Unwerth, Greg Kadel, Cédric Buchet, Enrique Badulescu, Phil Pointer, Luciana & Franco, Alex Cayley, David Slijper, David Vasiljevic and Carter Smith.
His work can be seen on the covers and pages of various magazines: Vogue, (Italian, French, British, Japanese, Chinese editions), Numéro (Paris, Koréan, Tokyo), V, Self-Service, Another, i-D, Ten, Muse and Harper's Bazaar (UK & US).
Ed has directed his hair styling team for various international fashion shows including; Martin Margiela, A.F. Vandevorst, Byblos, Hugo Boss, Anne Valerie Hash, Christian Lacroix, Sharon Wauchob, Tim Van Steenbergen, Christian Wijnants, Haider Ackerman, Moon Young Hee, André Walker, Stefan Schnijdee, Cacharel, Véronique Leroy and Exté.
