OMG, i just went on the topshop website, and one of their collections is labelled '60s WARHOL'!!!!!!!!!

can u believe it!! i mean i knew they were obvioulsy ripping off the look, but i never knew they would do it this blatently!

sorry, its just really annoying that everyones dressing this way and no1 understands it. so, if i buy something inspired by edie or whatever, people will think im just being a trend wh*re, if u catch my drift. they'll think im just buying whatever it is coz everyone else is, not because, really ive been inspired by edie way before the shops started imitating everything from the 60sfactory scene.

The 60's/mod throwback was popular about a decade ago, too, then it faded out and is back in again.
Seriously people, it's just clothing, not sacreligion.

I agree. I personally enjoy the pics of her without the false lashes. Just more natural imo.

I've also decided to write an article about Edie for my school newspaper. Sort of to "enlighten" all the Sienna-wannabes I hope I do her justice

I applaud you SW for taking the initiative to "enlighten" your colleagues! I am sure you'll do Edie perfect justice. Good luck with the paper.

The people who try on every trend most likely do not read so they will not learn about Edie or where any "look" actually comes from-they just look in mags and at parties,dance floors and see the trend and go shopping.I know some people like this and they have never cared to read a book about any past time and they dont care about knowing about Edie...they might say-i like that silver top but thats it.
A new trend will be around by spring and summer-
I dont care if people get into Edies look or not,most cant pull it off.
And black and white stripes are done off and on all of the time-usually in a not-so-Edie-way......

i was wondering, does anybody have that Edie Screen Test shirt from Warholstore.com? the picture they have of it is really crappy.

nicole richie's outfit doesn't really bother me-- it just looks like an awkward replica of dior's fall collection. really fake, not very edie at all. stripes, tights, and high boots were super trendy in the sixties anyway, she shouldn't get all the credit for the look. it's the thought of people waltzing around with edie's face printed like 100 times all over their shirts and not having a clue who she is that makes me a bit uncomfortable, you know? at least people aren't walking around in leotards with t-shirts and silver hair and stuff.

ok now I am mad... I just saw that British popstar Will Young´s video, where he makes a cover of The Doors - Light My Fire (how could they let him do that?) anyway... the video... there´s this girl all made up to look like Edie doing some of those black/white scenes in Ciao.
oh my god it was the most tasteless video I have ever seen!

They didn't "let" Will do a cover of that song, they *made* him. He was our first Pop Idol winner, (and the only successful one) and he sang that song when he got to the Final 10, and everyone loved it so much, after he won the show, they got him to release it. Anyway, that video is very old, it was released a few months after he won the contest in 2000/2001 - trust me, Will is the least mainstream guy you could ever come across. And I think the video was pretty good.

oh ok, I didn´t know that. I read somewhere on imdb.com´s forum that it was a new video, that´s why I thought it was so awful, cause I thought it was just a thing because Edie is "in" at the moment.

that's the same thing I was talking about and before now-I'd never seen a picture of Edie bare faced,she loved her makeup-I dont even recall anyone from any book talking about seeing her bare faced.....but there she is on the cover of a new book with a bare face from the screentest photos-I dont know.....I got to check out the book,of course I'll buy it.

you guys! that photo isn't altered, it's just not a good photo. not everyone looks perfect all of the time, but it think she's pretty still without makeup. you can tell in second photos posted that she is looking at the camera and in the bare faced photo she isn't. i don't think anyone would want to alter her pupils, but then again i don't understand why anyone would ever want to alter a photo in the first place. i guess some people like to for some weird reason. anyway, i was looking in the new copy of nylon magazine and they had a picture of an edie sort of look alike, the title of the page was ciao!manhattan but the text was about somebody else and didn't even mention edie or manhattan. so they were just totally ripping her off and not even giving her credit for it.

im sure it was inspired by her. just maybe not in all her entirety. Im sure they used the attitude and looks of edie with the model...the style etc... and spruced it up a bit. i mean... the editorial does scream edie. but i do know where you are coming from exactly.
