Has anyone ever stayed at the Chelsea Hotel? Is Edie's room (room 105 I believe) a room you can reserve?

I'd just love to go there and stay in the room Edie once stayed in!

I found these pictures here and I don't know if they have been posted here yet :flower:

She's Beck's mom? How random! I had no idea.

TheKiwi, I've always wanted to stay in her room, too, well, i've wanted to stay in almost every room there! Except Sid and Nancy's...that's just too creepy.

I think someone told me, in this thread, like a year ago, that her room wasn´t there anymore. I´ll see if I can find exactly what was written.

oh yes, now I found it... it was Little Tiny who said that Edie´s room was split up to two new rooms.
I think it would be interesting to stay at the Chelsea hotel anyway, just to get the feeling..

Yes,that's true and the place has a very quiet, mysterious loneliness....like an insane asylum but very funny, nice and poet types who live there and are very friendly. You should go and stay there,it's legendary.
Also, the Sid and Nancy room is gone-it drew all the wrong types for really bad reasons and the owner didn't want THAT story to become THE story of the Hotel-even though it has become the story most known and carried.

I have some pictures from my stay at The Chelsea ,like one of the 105 door[the door was still the original]and the staircase and stuuf-I'll look through my stuff this weekend and if you are interested,I will post it here for you to see.
Dee Dee Ramone was living there when I was and Sally Kirkand[she is in the FACTORY GIRL movie] too and she is Fabulous....there are secret passages and elevators underground for celebrity use[don't tell anyone]and the old silver telephone booth is still in the lobby.

OH WOW!!! Please post those pics!!! That is awesome Little Tiny....I would love to go to Edie's room too, one or the other......

I did not know that Beebe was Beck's mom either.....kinda cool!!!:p

Little Tiny, that'd be great if you could post the photos! :woot: I'd love to see.

Thanks for all the info about The Chelsea Litte Tiny :flower: Very interesting! I would love to see the photos.

I friend of mine stayed there a very long time ago and said she was disappointed because there were so many junkies and addicts. Perhaps Sid and Nancy's room was still there at the time. I'm glad they cleaned it up though, it is a legendary hotel. I would love to see it one day.

Since Edie was an artist, I was wondering if you knew, LibertyBell, if Edie had any favorite artists/painters herself? Thanks :)

Confession of an Edie obsession... When I was in college I found the old issue of Vogue which defines her as "a youthquaker" and cut the article out. I now have it framed on my wall (and still feel guilty). I also met the director of Ciao Manhattan when I lived in LA (David W.). But I still can't shake the feeling he used her for that movie. He ended up winning an Academy Award for Kiss of the Spider Woman. I wished I had asked him more questions about Edie...

Little Tiny, thanks for all the info! I would love to see the photos. I'm glad Sid and Nancy's room is gone, what kind of person could stay in that room anyway?

Girleen, i really don't think that he used Edie. I mean they started the movie in the sixties and wanted to finish it. Almost everyone else who knew Edie had stopped caring about her except the Ciao people and i'm glad about that. That's so cool that you met him! Did you talk to him or anything?

I capped this from the girlonfire website, before everything else popped up over it. I contrasted and brightened the image

Didn't they say they were going to have tons of pictures like every week? :(

her eyebrows look very thick in that pic... do yo know if she used to draw her eyebrows?

Oh of course! It's obvious! When she was younger she had very thin, pointy brows. She must've used eyeliner or eyebrow pencil for it.
