^ I agree 100% with Babydoll!
I love Edie, but it is well documented that she lied especially during her drug stint.
This is such a serious accusation to make, that I don't think we should just be accepting that her father was some kind of sick man solely from the testimony's of one of his daughters who was using stimulants most of her life, god bless her soul.
It's very possible that it did happen, and in that case my heart goes out completely, but I don't think it's fair to damn her father when, really, what do we know?
Nothing but what Edie has told us.
That is, unless, someone else has confirmed what she has said.

Has anyone here seen the Bob Dylan film "I'm Not There" yet? I saw it a few days ago. Michelle Williams plays a debutante named Coco who is based on Edie... and it wasn't a very favorable portrayal (not that I'm surprised, considering the things he wrote about her in his songs). Neither Bob nor Coco are very nice to each other... but it sort of suggests they once had a "thing" in the past.

What I'm wondering is if Dylan himself commissioned/approved of this character. Interesting if he did...

What exactly did Andy say when he was asked about Edies death?
it has completely left my mind and I wanted to put it in the essay im writing about Edie

When he first heard that she had died Andy said, "Oh, i thought she died two years ago." and when he was asked abou her in interviews he said that he didn't know her that well.

I thought tha i read he was involved in the movie and i had the same thoughts as you. I'll have to do some research. Did you like the movie? I don't know if i want to see it yet.

^Save yourself 2+ hours and do not see it. So contrived, so overstatedly 'hip' I could barely stomach it. The "Edie" charecter was interesting, but a really shallow and cliched portrayal.

Personally, I really enjoyed it and thought it was very well made. I could give you my nerdy film student analysis, but I'll spare you. However, I don't think I would have loved it half as much if I didn't know anything about Dylan (I probably would have called it an incohesive mess). Which is why I'm a bit hesitant to recommend it. So really it just depends on how much you like him, or don't like him...

And I understand how someone could see it as pretentious, but still it's creative, complex, and has substance, unlike one other particular, awful, cliche biopic....

Did Liberty Bell post these ones? I saw these on flickr and i don't remember these particular ones but the ones she posted are gone now so i'll post these anyways. I just realized that in the later pictures and recordings she looks and sounds a lot like Stevie Nicks! Anyone else agree?

Edie's voice does sound a bit like Stevie's there! I guess I'd have to hear her sing to really compare them.

LibertyBell did post them a while ago (thanks again for sharing :flower:) I love the candid photos of Edie. Her smile was so beautiful & heart warming.

^ Thank for that gorgeous vid BabyDoll!
Cant give you karma right now but I will asap! xx

Omg...thx babydoll for all those pics. I've never seen them before!

They're Liberty Bell's pictures but i just found them on flickr. If she wants me too i will glady take them down because the ones that she posted are gone.

No problem, babydoll1125, and thank you for being so very considerate. I only promised not to post more pictures until after the Girl on Fire documentary is completed.

Wonderful! Can you give us an idea of when Girl On Fire will be out? I'm pretty excited about it.

You know there's also a few minutes of Beauty #2 and Outer and Inner Space on youtube, just incase anybody wanted to check it out.

ohh i watched some of those but the quality was so bad i couldn't really understand what she was saying. Beauty #2 was better but still a little fuzzy. All of Outer and Inner Space used to be on youtube, i wish someone would put it back on and her other movies, too.
