Edward Crutchley S/S 2023 London

HAHA these actually made me laugh. It's just funny at this point, like I can't even be bothered to react.

But that last look is a strong contender for the worst dress of the season. There are not enough words to desrcribe how bad that is. Did they break into an abandoned mansion untouched from the 19th century and steal someone's dusty, clunky drapes?

For mere eye-candy reasons, I’m happy to see abs & muscles on the Hommes.

But he should stick to textiles at Dior mens. The textiles there look good, whereas everything he designs under his own line always looks like sartorial doo-doo.

If you put two sexy, hunky (and almost naked) men in your show...you clearly do it because you want the objective public (gay men and hetero women) to avoid looking at your awful clothes.

It starts out tolerable only to become a psychedelic nightmare by the end…

You made me look up his past experience and wow, I wouldn’t have expected him to have worked at Dior Homme. It’s a bit baffling to be frank.

A lot of these fabrics look cheap, but that isn’t always a bad thing. If you have the knowledge and tact, a good designer can play with taste and push something rather interesting from a “cheaper” fabric. Unfortunately, Edward hasn’t been able to do that here. The eye candy helps draw the eye in though. Only slightly.
