Clearly, leaving his bank job in Japan a few years ago to model was a great decision. FETCH PEOPLE MODEL 27, Edwin Lee Kadarisman is now one of Indonesia’s top model. Recently seen on the runways for the inaugural Men’s Fashion Week 2011 in Singapore, this handsome model with bones structure to envy was seen in nearly every show. If that’s not enough to prove his mettle as a top model, countless of magazine covers across the region and Shanghai Tang appointed him as their face for their Spring/Summer 2011 international ad campaign. Edwin has a body to die for too but best of all, this former trophies winning volleyball player is one of the nicest and down to earth guy I have ever met. Even though with his array of accomplishments in modelling. 1.85m tall Edwin took some time off his busy schedule to be FETCH PEOPLE 27.
Tell us more about Edwin Lee Kadarisman.
I am a simple man with a Big Vision. I am based in 3 Countries (Singapore, Hongkong and China ‘Shanghai’) with All Cal-Carries Agency and I enjoy playing volleyball when time permits.
How did modelling come about?
I started to model when I was in Jakarta, because of my girlfriend and friends encouraged me to try it and they supported my decision to model.
Runways or Photo Shoots. Why?
I like both runways and photo shoots. Actually modelling is not just limited to only runways and photo shoots. I have also done TVC and Print job (for Commercial). That said, I like photo shoots more, because I can keep the pictures when I retire from modelling. I won’t be retiring anytime soon though as I still want to attain my goal in modelling.
What is your Style Philosophy?
Keep it simple and be myself. I wear anything as long it’s comfortable and suits my body.
What are your favourite labels?
Shanghai Tang! (haha!) I like mandarin collar. I think it’s classy looking and special.
Who are your Style Influences?
My good friends and my girlfriend.
What do you like to do when you have a free time?
I like to workout or play volleyball. Also meeting up with my friends.
Where to next after Men’s Fashion Week?
I don’t know yet, but I believe my agency has already some plans for me. I think I might go back to Hongkong again.
Any chance of seeing you on a sinetron (Indonesia’s drama series) anytime soon?
Haha, maybe. If I have already reached my goal and retire from modelling. For now though, I want to focus solely on modelling.
What are your advice to new models?
Just be yourself and give your best in whatever you do whichever part of your life.
