Elie Saab Haute Couture F/W 2023.24 Paris

There’s always that I somehow always love and respect about Elie Saab is his consistency.
Some couturiers are using Couture as a laboratory, are trying to push fashion or at least the convention of Couture forward and some like Elie Saab are doing this very noble thing of doing clothes for the rich clients.

Elie Saab knows his clientele and while doing what he knows he can do best, he is still changing one or two things to keep the groove going.

Alors, it’s not my style at all but it’s great. Super well made and while heavily embellished, it looks still quite chic and fresh.

And it’s good to see a cast of women or at least the portray of a strong and confident woman. Perfect hair and make-up!

‘While not memorable, it’s one great collection.

So charming how the occasional french word would end up in your posts, Lola. Does that also happen when you’re speaking in english? I had a BF who would switch to french whenever he got heated; I guess cursing in french was more natural for him...

Anyway, offerings for real life princesses (and apparently a Count Dracula LOL).

The solid emerald green and ruby red gowns are garbs spun by Rumpelstiltskin himself. Not a single pucker in sight. There ought to be a law in fashiondom that all aspiring designers pass a standard of high technical craft and skills before even attempting design :cough:Charles de Vilmorin:cough:

A little costumey in parts, but not a single seam is out of place and I honestly respect that.

Would like to see an Elie Saab collection where the embroideries are at a minimum. The looks in here where there's no to little of them are my favourite and I think a collection where they are the majority would be a pleasant experience. Or I could eat my words and it ends up looking like a Giambattista-esque dumpster fire, still would like to see Saab take up the challenge.

Gorgeous velvets as well. Always worth mentioning.

In like 10 years we are gonna have to give Elie his flowers for a very long couture career.

Hes a master of fabric that black brocade gown features equisite fabric manipulation. Lots of dizzying sheer dresses i cant make sense of. the pink coat dress with flowers on the shoulder is the worst look here. The bar jacket with flowers on the shoulders is stunning though. The emerald green gown with diagonal bow is the best look here would look amazing on RC. this collection is chock full of red carpet looks.

just gorgeous options for the rich woman who has a busy day of directing a charity and attending many galas throughout the year.

I hope he never changes. Through all those years of people criticizing him for being too "red carpet", he proved that his good old formula still works. This is all gorgeous, and everything that that the women in the 1% need.

Thank you my dear…
Tbh, there’s a sense of emergency in my posts. I can look at a thread when I’m going somewhere or while doing something, si my posts are very spontaneous. Result, you would see some french in it.
Sometimes I’m appalled by the number of mistakes I made in one post though…

But yes, I put some French in my English when I speak in a very spontaneous way or when I forget a word. But the contrary happens also…I think my entourage hate the words « relevant » at this point.

The worst thing French speaking people do is literally translate the English to French… I’m guilty of that myself. I would literally translate « At the end of the day » and say « A la fin de la journée »…Which literally doesn’t make any type of sense in French lol.

Not my favorite collection from his but still he's serving. The mens look actually are quite nice. And also I think every one who wears his clothes always looks flattering.
