Elle France August 11, 2022 : Hana Jirickova by Giampaolo Sgura

A little Maxim-ish imo but I love how european Elles always feature the 2000s models that are not getting that much work everywhere else :)

Running scared from depictions of sexuality is part of the reason why women's magazines are so boring these days, it's been written out of the pages, despite most readers of women's magazines being heterosexual, along with everything that entails.

We've reached a point of awareness, where women aren't solely depicted as sex objects for male consumption, but there's also no merit in pretending that there isn't a sexual aspect to women, where part of being alive is the interplay of sexual energy between women and men, in part communicated by appearance.

Fashion is a place where everyone can work and play, where norms can be subverted and things are not as they seem - but still, anything in fashion that's remotely mass-market and aimed towards women should never forget that women still like to feel sexually alive.

Not really. Maybe if it was shot by Bensimon it could have been since he is the one who shoots all the main editorials for Maxim. But honestly I'm not getting the Maxim vibe here, that is what seperates both of Bensimon's work for Maxim and his work for Elle France. Its really the same here. Tigerrouge hit it spot on here.

Full disclosure I'm a sex positive person, I don't really have an issue portrayals sexuality be it tasteful, objectifying, or in between. It depends on the what is meant by the portrayal. Its all art in my view.

^I´m getting male magazine vibes because her butt is photographed and photoshoped in a way that is the only center of attention.

Because it says FESSES in big letters? If you promise buttocks, but there are no buttocks, you're letting people down big-style.

French Elle does this Special Fesses all the time - and in years past, the cover shot was sometimes a close-up of someone's bum, and nothing else. And you might have got a free mini-book with the issue to read on holiday.

right-on spot! sexuality makes a lot of people nervous i guess...not even sexuality nakedness, now that we live in the don't-say-nothing-don't-show-nothing era it's funny how our minds are reprogrammed (at least they are trying lol)....

I'm glad Elle France sticks to their identity...
