Emanuel Ungaro S/S 10 Paris

i know lindsay isn't all that popular here in the united states -- except maybe among gay men who'll love her always --

not i,dear mike ;)

oh gah...i heard people were snickering and rolling their eyes during the entire show. can't say that i'm not the least bit sympathetic.

not i,dear mike ;)

just let her release another nightclub-favorite track and she'll win them back....for at least three minutes anyway. i mean, they've gone wild over miley in some parts....

speaking of, isn't there a blurb somewhere that lindsay invited miley to this show?

I'm not a fan of anything Lohan has ever done artistically, I dont really think she's a talented actress or singer...she has done well at joining the entreprenurial trend of other girls whose shadows she may have been in in the past (Hilton, Richie) but the only reason I've followed her is to honestly see her next breakdown. Call me evil.

And a big NO to any of the Cyrus family. :yuk:

Please dont take this off for OT discussion, its relevant. ;)

i am pretty sure, like someone else said a while earlier in this thread, that if she sent something impecable down, everyone would have hated it.
i dont think its good, no.
i do LOVEEEEE the shoes and the blazers with the lapels to look like hearts.
but lindsay lohan, although she is crazy, is genuinely passionate about fashion.
but of course she is desperate. this collection was last minute and her previous attempt at high end fashion was a line of leggings.
to be tacked onto such a huge name, especially in paris, was a huge deal for her.
it rubs me the wrong way that she is taking so much credit for it though.
but i do trust her intentions to be more than a publicity stunt.

It's not horrible, but there is very little cohesion throughout the whole thing. And why is Lindsay even there? It's not like she did anything with this though I mean she only joined a month ago. That's not enough time to creatively develop an entire collection. And her comments to the press only confirm that she really knows nothing about what she is doing and is trying (and failing) at giving generic, "form" answers. And we've seen what her work ethic is like on films in the past 2 - 3 years, which is apparently something she enjoys doing, so I really don't see how that same ethic can create an entire collection. As others have said, she is there for PR purposes only. She may say "oh how about we do different colored pinstripes!" or "I like hearts - lets do something with hearts" but beyond that, I'm sure she does nothing.

I think her efforts went further than that ;) I have to believe the heart pasties, the hearts on the bras, the hearts pasted on the models' heads, were all her doing :innocent:

It's nice to see Marc on the receiving end of the copying :p

It was really terrible to read that the CEO thought that the reviews would have been much worse so like you said, he never really expected it to be good anyways. I'm not sure if to feel sorry or happy for Estrella that she's not receiving much attention. Maybe it is indeed good Lindsay is taking all of the credit so to not really destroy Estrella's image.

I thought he might have been talking about the backlash at the appointment ...

Except, of course, the Olsens have more money than God and would never be interested in being used like this...Lindsey, on the other hand...

Not to mention actual talent and multiple successful lines of their own ...

I would imagine that Archs took this because she needs the $$$$ to keep her own line afloat ... I hope she has nerves of steel and an iron stomach--she will need them.

There are some pretty pieces here, wearable by those who can wear very short skirts. I thought there was some coherence ... some good, some bad.

i can forgive them for the collection, because they only had 3 weeks, but, why do i have the feeling that the were more worry about their looks than about the collection?

Estrella Archs is a talented designer an I have high hopes for her - those complex and intriguing knotted boleroes, draped and ruched dresses could not have been executed by Lohan. I'm sure the collection would have turned out differently had Lohan not been on board to offer "advice" on how to attract the Hollywood set...She admitted freely that the sequinned pasties were her ideas, and lots others besides, I'm sure....:ninja:

What did she say? I literally couldn't watch it :ninja: I quit at "It's just going to get better, and better, and better ..."

When asked whether she's going to be wearing the line often, she looked at the interviewer like she was crazy and said she'd wear it sometimes, but "not all the time, like, not when I'm out to lunch!"

Apparently lunch isn't in the contract  But after all, how many places can you wear heart-shaped pasties to lunch :ermm:

^ Well, if 'lunch' is at some out of the way motel down the coast... :shifty:

well now i understand the mess of this collection after seeing what a mess Lindsay is in those videos!!!

Why would any design house want a 'has been' as a creative director?
