i just bought some black pumps, (posted them in the 'post your shoes' thread actually!)

anyway, when i walk in them they have that new leather squeak
to be totally honest, it sounds like the surface of my big toenail rubbing against the leather! how do i stop this leathery squeak? :ninja:

Just looked at the pics [killer baby-dolls ! ]

I don't see anything there that should cause such a noise. It's usually caused by some type of leather strap, band or decoration moving across the main body of the shoe.

Do you wear them barefoot? Or do you wear stockings/hose/tights with them?

Barefoot, I could see the toenail causing the noise but that also might indicate an improper fit. Maybe try some kind of foot powder/talc?

If you're not wearing them barefoot, I don't know what to suggest.

I have on a pair of round toe pumps that do that. I dont have anything on my feet so I just took a cloth bandaid and put it over my big toe toenail. It solved the problem.

I did think of that, but thought it sounded odd. Glad to see somebody tried it and it works!!

Wonder if it would work the other way also? Place something like a corn pad [round] inside the shoe [stick it to the shoe instead of the toenail] where the toenail would rub against it instead of the shoe ?

thankyou guys!

Echoes: thanks, they are killer huh! when i wear opaques there is no noise, barefoot is where the 'squeeeek' happens. i will definatley give the powder a go :)

velvet rope: i might just try that too!
