Great video. Ferragamo was such a good show for her.
Thanks!
harpersbazaar.com.auEmily Baker: This New Zealander was discovered on a beach, and has washed up on every casting director’s “ones to watch” list. She appeared in a staggering 60 shows this season, for designers including Alexander McQueen, Céline, Balenciaga and Calvin Klein Collection — the kind of list runway veterans would be proud of.

Ever wonder what Emily Baker looked like when she first started modelling?
Let me tell you: Tall, leggy, thin, with cheekbones to die for.
So… Pretty much the same as she looks now.
Before the 17 year old New Zealander was named one of the top newcomers of Fall/Winter 2011 and snapped up by no less than 60 designers in her first runway season, she had only been modelling for 6 months and only ever walked one fashion show in her life: Nicole Miller. At New Zealand Fashion Week.
I am telling you this because 1. It is interesting and amazing how far one can go in 6 months with good timing and talent, and 2. Although I have known this for a while, but it only occurred to me recently that wait – I was at that show! I was at that show with my camera. As soon as I recalled this late last night, I immediately got out the hard drive and went through my archives. And sure enough, there she was, back in September at New Zealand Fashion Week.
So without further ado, I present to you Emily Baker – in her first ever fashion show:

Okay, granted, the above photo is pretty bad, but it’s the only one I’ve got!

^Are you sure she wasn't a Nicole Miller exclusive?
katherineisawesomeAlthough Emily walked the fashion week casting and her card went out to all designers she was not picked for NZ FW by any designers, the Nicole Miller show was sponsored and cast by Emilys agency
