She makes the most puzzling career choices.I saw Sleeping Beauty the other day. Aside from the film being very skeevy I wondered what made her want to take the role? Those old men groping her was just so gross.

Did anyone understand Sleeping Beauty? Who was the guy she kept visiting in his apartment?

I'd advise you to look up a detailed synopsis, but the guy in the apartment seemed to be an old friend of hers with substance abuse issues, possibly someone she wished she could have been with if things had been different. She's got interviews discussing why she chose to take the role too, you could youtube those.

I did actually like the film even though it was very creepy and made me uncomfortable for Emily. I tend to like quiet films. I appreciated that although she was completely exposed, so were the men who paid for her services.

That movie also made me keen to see her with a lighter hair colour that isn't platinum...wow does she ever pull off that strawberry colour in Sleeping Beauty.

Honestly, I'd rather see her in more films like Sleeping Beauty than Pompeii. But I understand that as an actress you can't just pick and choose. I would love to see both her and Bella Heathcote in the kind of roles Mia Wasikowska gets.
