Evangeline Lilly's Lost quit threat

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Evangeline Lilly has hinted she will quit 'Lost' unless the show's fans stop hassling her.

The actress is growing weary of the constant attention she receives from followers of the programme and admits she sometimes considers walking away from her role as sexy fugitive Kate in the hit series.

Lilly, who is dating her 'Lost' co-star Dominic Monaghan, said: "I am an incredibly private person, and it's so exhausting to me that everywhere I go people know me or think they know me. If I could act and make the income I make and be anonymous, I would never want to leave the job."

This is not the first time Lilly has complained about her fame.

She previously admitted she would like to go on holiday to a remote island where no one would recognise her because she is so sick of being hounded by fans and the media wherever she goes.

She said: "I want to go somewhere like Mongolia or Timbuktu. Someplace where they don't watch 'Lost'!"

seriously, she might as well just quit now.
this reminds me why I kinda stopped liking her...every interview, comment is always a bloody complain about how difficult it is to live her life. Yeah right. I mean I get that being famous can't be all that easy, but try and at least sound a bit gracious for your situation cause I'm sure there's plenty of good stuff to go along with it.

In her defense, it seems like her quotes have been taken out of context in this situation. While I am sure she and other celebrities enjoy peace and quiet from the fame side of their job, she never actually said she was "sick of being hounded by fans" or that they are "hassling" her. They are putting words in her mouth. It makes her sound horrible and leaves the impression that she hates fans period, which is not the impression I get from reading actual interviews with her. She always seems gracious and appreciative of their support. However, I do think she is having trouble grappling with fame and the trappings that come with it. She seems uncomfortable at times with portions of it all (paparazzi). I don't see her staying with acting after Lost is over. She says she loves the job, but I think her desire for a return to anonymity will win out in the end.

I think it was taken out of context too. She has said that if she ever can't deal with the fame anymore she would leave acting. There is no quote of her threatening fans.

wow I can't even imagine the pressures that Evi feels and also feeling like someones invading your privacy all the time. I just hate to see her doing something that takes such a toll on her, of course I wanna see her around forever but if it's not making her happy.... what kind of life would that be to be miserable but getting a good paycheck?

GAH! She's pretty and a good actress, but I think she's a terrible interview. She needs a publicist pronto.

Whenever she is on talkshows her interviews are always great but on print articles the media always take things out of context or quotes sound different than they are meant to be. Like in a print interview she was complaining about the chill atmosphere or Hawaii and it sounded about ungratefull and snotty but then I listened to her saying the exact same thing on Leno and she was just being humorous and she really loves Hawaii and its people.
