I tried searching and couldn't believe that there wasn't even a mention of this fabulous band on this entire message board. You may have heard them from the Friday Night Lights soundtrack, which they wrote in its entirety.
For fans of emotional, complex, and just plain beautiful music, Explosions in the Sky has something for everyone. They can wake you up or calm you down; you can use them as background music or just sit and immerse yourself in the noise. The lack of lyrics lets the boys focus on the musical aspect, and it's definitely no hindrance to their quality (I would argue that lyrics would take away from it... it leaves more for you to interpret from their work). Every time I turn on an Explosions song I find a new piece that I hadn't heard before, a new part that hooks me in.
Check out http://www.myspace.com/texasband for some of their songs. I’d recommend starting with 'Look Into The Air'.
