My eyebrow hairs stick out so that when viewed from an angle the tips of my eyebrow hairs are like a quarter inch away from my forehead skin. Kind of like the juiceman although not as bad. I've tried using stuff like strong gel, hair spray, and vaseline but they make it shiney and it doesn't even stay flat that well. I know it's not a common problem but does anyone know what I can do for a problem like this so that it could look more like tyson's down there? Please help.

Are you a guy ? my dad has long eyebrows as well..and he uses a hair-trimmer on them..and they look fine.

yep, i am a guy. I tried trimming them but it gives me little bald sports cause i dont have many of them, and looks like when a person gets a really short haircut. sux.

I've tried hair gel and eyebrow gel but they were not strong enough and hairspray too shiny. wish i could perm them into place or something lol, thanks for the replies.

You have to train them. I heard that you should brush them down with a toothbrush every day or something..

Sounds odd.

people who do threading for a living, can probably do something with them...why not look into that? go to a local salon that does threading and find out.

makes sense. i guess it's kinda like how my hair naturally goes one direction after i wear a hat for awhile. somehow don't think it'll do much for my brows to train them but i guess i could try to push them down flat when i can, or brush

Oh wow, yea i should really look into that... just that i'd be really embarrassed to be seen in a salon where I may be the only guy in there. Guess I have to just suck it up and ask for that

Welcome bballkid11. It must be something in the air with these eyebrows sticking out....mine have been acting up lately and I don't know why. I just continually brush them with an eyebrow brush....the hairs must be tamed! What about a beeswax or something thick that maybe you can brush on your brows at night? I don't know. I just keep brushing and brushing and brushing and brushing.....:flower:

Gonna sound really dumb, but what is threading, is it that thing where they get like string and twist it weird and yank ur eyebrows out?

Kim, you've pretty much summed it up. Threading is an Indian hair removal technique that is much better (IMO) than plucking or waxing. I've gotten my eyebrows threaded and the hair doesn't grow back as faster...less irritating than waxing and doesn't cause all the redness that plucking and waxing causes. I like it alot. :D

i dont get what the difference between plucking and threading is. in threading doesnt the thread just hold onto individual hairs and pull it out just like you would in plucking or am i way off?

Ususally stray eyebrows happen when the brows are too long. You could try trimming, but be conservative. When I needed my eyebrows to look thick for Halloween, I applied a very conservative amount of vaseline and wiped off the excess. It worked really well.

i just tried vaseline again but it doesn't do much for my thick as bushes eyebrow hairs and i have to slab it on till it looks shiney for it to stay at all. I use this really strong *** molding paste that makes my brows look good right after i put it on but it too is useless after just a few minutes. wonder if i can perm it or something

Why not just shorten all of your eyebrow hair at the salon (or by yourself... it's not that hard)... and if there are 'bald spots' just get an eyebrow pencil that matches your hair color and fill those little gaps in by stroking the pencil over your brows.

i don't know...as a guy, i'd have some uneasy feelings about using an eyebrow pencil. it might be distracting for anyone who notices it. are there many guys that do this?

I think you should post a picture of your eyebrows..that'll probably help you get the best advice :flower:

all you have to do is brush the hairs downward and trim the hairs that don't fall in the same pattern as your eyebrow. it's hard to explain. just brush the hairs down and the ones that fall out of the natural contour of your eyebrow cut away. gah. i can't explain it. but, that's what i do with unruly brow hairs.

<3 me.
