What are your thoughts on facial exercises? Do you believe that there are certain exercises that could help define your facial shape, give you fuller lips or give you higher cheeks ? I have seen all these workouts on Youtube and was wondering if it really works.

I've heard of them too, though I never really tried them out. In my opinion, I kind of doubt simple facial exercise could fully define your face to make them more chiseled or whatnot. I think the best way to achieve that nice facial structure is to lose weight in the face via cardio, burning calories, etc
If facial exercises worked, chewing gum would've made wonders  but then again I never tried them so I'm not a reliable witness :flower:

^ LOL. the gum idea reminded me of something I've read a while ago about fat baby cheeks. It was said that babies have full cheeks because of the breastfeeding workout. sucking in and out your cheeks increases their size!

I've always heard that working out your face muscles makes them stronger and more prominent, which gives the appearance of a full young face rather than holllow/thin cheeks.
*I could be proven wrong though!

I highly doubt facial exercises work. For one thing, the muscles of the face can't be toned. Like the muscles in our arms and legs can be toned with exercise, the same doesn't happen to the face. :flower:

Some year ago we have same kind of thread where was also tips and I even try it for awile. I actully even read books considering this subject. I didn't find any big changes but I still do these sometimes. Especially I try to avoid double chin and relax my eyes.

Oh, and little bit off-topic, I don't about changes on my face but my dentist gave me also advises relax my face and those were hilarious exercises too. Maybe alone in dark room.. but they worked.

I don't think you can tone your facial muscles, the only way to "tone" them, to get cheek bones or whatever is working out at the gym & burning all the fat from your body.

I'm a bit doubtful. Similar to how you can't "spot reduce" various parts of your body (eg. a thousand sit-ups won't get rid of a belly, you need to lower your total body fat).

^Naw, it's true. ^_^ Trust. By working out, you lower body fat and thus you see more defined abs because of sit-ups. (I hope that makes sense... it's late.)

My brother tried to convince me that jutting out my jaw would get rid of a double chin. Is that even possible? I read in Seventeen magazine that more water and overall exercise helps rid of that, but I haven't tried it.

^ No, it's not ... the only way is by working out to burn the fat from your body ... I'm not sure if drinking more water would help, a sure thing is that if you go to the gym you will need to drink more water while you are there working out, so actually you will end up drinking more water than you usually do every day.

^ can you actually lose your cheeks by working out your body ( without going on a diet) ?

Yes, you just need to workout a lot, much cardio to burn the fat from your body ... I can't tell you if you need to go on a diet or not, it depends how your metabolism works, having an healthy alimentation is needed of course. But surely there's no exercise to work your facial muscles, why does models have cheek bones? because they work out & they are thin, they don't have fat in their bodies, just lean muscle, mostly male models because they work at the gym much more than female models.

PS: I don't think you have nor should go on a diet since you would then loose much amount of weight in a short time & you can't do that because your skin.
