URBAN FASHION: Fashion was smack in the middle of Times Square on last week via a 50-foot runway on the traffic island where Seventh Avenue meets Broadway. Fifteen models draped in designs by Cynthia Rowley, Vivienne Tam, Jill Stuart, House of Diehl, Cat Swanson and Zang Toi strutted down the runway to music by Gwen Stefani and The Rolling Stones, with their images projected on the giant NBC Astrovision by Panasonic video screen at One Times Square. The audience couldn't help but admire the fashions, though most only paused for a few minutes.
This show kicked off a series of fashion footage to be aired on the giant overhead screen. Footage of runway shows and designers, shot at Olympus Fashion Week's fall 2005 collections, will run two to four minutes every hour on the hour. Panasonic will donate the fashion week footage and footage of the event to the New York City Archives.

THIS is why i need to be in New York! I would be sprinting back to Times Square every hour on the hour no matter where i was. Now, if they could get Boudicca, Zac Posen and Doo Ri, Imitation of Christ and Proenza Schouler on that runway, i probably wouldn't leave!

*howls at the cloudless NY skyline*

Why? Is this to make New York fashion week taken more seriously?
