which were the most important fashion 'headlines' for 2003 ?
what shall we remember this year for?
Lets make a "that was the year of.." list, here are some ideas

*Tom Ford's departure from Gucci
*The V&R retrospective
*The rise and rise and rise of prints
*Round toe shoes
*Shine surfaces & metallics
*LV flirt with art (Murakami etc)
*The decline of lux labels
*Black loses its grip
*Satin cargos
*Asian influences

please add your own list and stay true to important fashion headlines regardless if you liked /agree with them or not :flower:

here Andrew Gn's take on Asian

Great topic, Lena! :flower:

Exuberance was on of the best things that happened to fashion this year. I mean the world was in a state of global uncertainty and anxiety and then suddenly BAM! designers responded to that by making optimistic and fun collections wishing good will on troubled times. That made the most gorgeous Spring on record (Spring '03.) Definetly grace under pressure!

The most memorable was John Galliano's S/S '03 collection!

V&R also responded to this:

Fashion's prince of darkness went romantic, while staying true to himself:

Marc and LV went sugary sweet:

Sport was big, too. Scuba was ahead of the pack with designers like Ghesquiere and Lang doing this. :flower:

Cavalli went ultra-glitzy...wait, that happens every year...

D&G went a bit cartoony with their cartoon opera jacket, no? And Moschino went a bit too cartoony...

:innocent: could you reply in lists please?
i'd like to see your personal takes on key points of 2003 , please :flower:

I would add to the list: The Return of Ladylike Femininity
