Ok, I went to IF basement sale. Not too much for men, almost nothing in my size, and nothing that really got me excited.

A ton of stuff for women, but 80% of it is Ivan Grundhal stuff. No Dries, at all . Some cool Margiela stuff, some cool Comme/Junya stuff, but not much. Some prices are really cheap, some not so.

The highlight was two pairs of women's leather pants by Carol Christian Poell from the old days .

no, I wouldn't say it's tempting at all. So, century has a nice rack of new yohji stuff (including Y's)

Oh man, century 21 gives me nightmares. It's tempting to go there but whenever I do, I totally regret it. I can't handle that place.

Went to the IF thing today. Totally disappointed. Has been much better in years past. I asked the salesgirl if the stock is replenished every day and she said it isn't. So I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone.

It's been such a non-event that noone from tFS goes there anymore. Don't waste your time.

Like someone mentioned before it's usually better bargains on the last days. I went last week on the second day and didn't see much in terms of clothing (they had a bunch of I believe Barney's flight jackets for men). Shoes were pretty good for men, but most of the women's shoes were blah.

thanks for the address to the barney's sale. it wasn't spectacular but i did get some citizens of humanity jeans for $40.

I stopped by the Barney's sale yesterday... it was 95% Barney's label stuff (all very blah), but I did manage to dig up a few interesting pieces. A Veronique Branquinho 1-button blazer (Sz. 50) for men! It was $170, but it was too much like a suit-jacket for me... I've got enough blazers as it is haha.
But if anyone is on the market for a blazer, I stuck it back in the Sz. 40 blazer section, bottom rack, near the front of the stack.

Agree with everyone on Barneys warehouse...its pathetic....I'll stop in this week when they do their final markdowns and see if there is anything remotely interesting.....hit the sale at Barneys...its funny I have gone a few times recently and never see the stuff that was on sale at the regular Barneys.....that stuff tends to end up elsewhere, like Filenes Basement..
