vogue.comNewlywed Felicity Jones Steps Out in the Perfect Honeymoon Dress
Another week, another star-studded wedding. While last weekend saw Game of Thrones star Kit Harington marry his former costar Rose Leslie (who donned Elie Saab), this Saturday saw Felicity Jones wed director Charles Guard in the English countryside in Cotswold. And while the main dress—a simple floor-skimming piece with a prim, high collar—captured attention over the weekend, Jones looked even more like an English rose in bloom today at London City airport with her new husband.
Jones’s red carpet style falls on the feminine side—think breathy frocks from Dior, Gucci, and Valentino—peppered with eye-catching pops. She’s proved that she’s not averse to taking a few fashion risks either, having stepped out in Alexander Wang’s girlish confections for Balenciaga and strapless outré pieces by Osman. But Jones took a softer tack while on holiday.
The simple sheath dress benefited from a touch of Kate Middleton–approved flair in the form of a soft peplum, which created an elongating silhouette. The lively floral motif was an elegant foil to the fire-engine red hue that was revisited on Jones’s leg-lengthening stilettos.

Last weekend, Oscar nominee Felicity Jones pulled off a rare thing for any movie star: a private, elegant wedding. On June 30, the 34-year-old British actress married her boyfriend of three years, director Charles Guard, 42, at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire, England. She shared photos from her wedding, and her custom-made Erdem couture gown, exclusively with Vanity Fair.
The gown features bone corset detailing and a grosgrain bow, giving off a vintage, mid-20th century vibe, complete with ruffled neck. Jones topped off the look with a jeweled Erdem veil. She tells V.F. that her favorite part of the dress were the buttons at the back, which started at the neck and went to the base and also decorated the sleeves. She was also a fan of the embroidered trellis cuffs. As for everything else, the bride kept things low-key, even doing her own make-up before she walked down the aisle.
Jones and her groom might have been the stars of the show, but some A-listers showed up at the ceremony, too. Tom Hanks, who starred opposite Jones in 2016’s Inferno, and her Theory of Everything co-star Eddie Redmayne were in attendance to mark her marriage to Guard, whom she met a few years ago in Los Angeles.
