Hi all, Have a question for anyone who has bought or has saw a cognac recently. I was in NM on fri nt and saw the most textured, gorgeous spy I have ever saw in the showcase. I tried it on and it was AMAZING! Ended up leaving it there but man went back on Sat and brought her home. Here's my questions: Bag is very dark in color, not near as dark as a chocolate but very dark for a cognac. Also, has some kind of coating that makes the leather feel much different than my petrol, almost slippery on the texture bumps and has more shine and is a stiffer leather ( maybe cause of the coating) than the petrol. Is this normal for the new Cognacs? I know NM would never sell a fake but I have never saw a bag like this before. I don't want to return it cause it is just gorgeous and now a gift and man HATES when I return his gifts. So please if anyone has saw it dark with a coating, pleaase advise. THANKS A BUNCH GUYS!
 
that sounds right. the new leather has a shinier, slippery coating and is more textured. enjoy it! i just saw two cognac's in sydney like that.

I had just collected my Honey spy and was wondering if the size has shrunk?? Cos it seems to be smaller than the previous season's size. TIA!

I haven't gotten to use my Spy because it's been snowing so much. But yesterday it hadn't snowed in days so I felt secure taking my baby out. Stayed over at my bf's house and what do I wake up to now? Snow storm :doh:
I don't have any other bags here so I'll have to carry it around all day in a plastic bag :angry:

:lol: :lol: ...Sorry but that was quite funny...Spy in plastic bag. Perhaps the luxury houses should include bag-doms or rain coats like those of the Hermes Kellys.. Especially for the escalating prices that they are being imposed.B)
 
Oh btw...an update on my Fortuny/Hologram Spy which I purchased from Fendi London (Sloane St.) via the telephone about 2 weeks ago. I confirmed the purchase on a Thursday/Friday. The bag arrived in London, from the Italy warehouse (according to SA) on the following Monday. On the same Monday, the bag was shipped off to Singapore via courier! Arrived in S'pore a week later i.e. yesterday. Have yet to see the bag but my friend informed that it is in order and appears faultless!!! I'm so excited!

For those who purchased a Spy over the phone or via the web, how was the Spy delivered i.e. packaging? S'porean friend informed that Spy was not in original Fendi box nor was there any stuffing on the bag. Perhaps this is to reduce the weight. Is this a regular practise?
 
teiko...I've seen the Honey IRL. The one I saw appeared just as big as her predecessors...:) Perhaps the leather of yours is softer than others?
 
Just a thought everyone...what is your dream leather color for the spy...

...I would say mine would be a rouge red...not like the Cherry...but a true rouge....I think it would be beautiful....or a cream. I love the white but would a true cream be beautiful...lighter than the camal from the first season...but a true true cream.

Loving it.

Baghag21, I asked fendi uk to put it in its orginal yellow fendi box, and when it was sent via DHL...the stuipd DHL just sent it in its Fendi Box, so i received my package with DHL stickers all over my yellow fendi box...hated it soo much...i was hoping that DHL would at least do me the courtsey of putting the actually box in a DHL plastic bag and sending it rather than putting stickers all over my fendi box...nevertheless , i got my bag in a very good condition...regardless of the outside box image...

teiko, I don't think the size has shrunk. I just got my Honey today and if anything, it seems bigger...

baghag, I hope you get your Spy soon! The wait must be agonizing. I know I am verry impatient. As far as packaging, I would really have liked a nice Fendi box to go with my Spy! But when I ordered my petrol, it just came in its dustbag. And today, my honey came in its dustbag, in a Fendi shopping bag. If I would have known, I would have requested they ship it in a Fendi box.

Anyhow, here are pictures of my new honey from Fendi in Las Vegas. And a picture of my Spy family. :) Someone mentioned that the new leather is more shiny? I found that my petrol is more shiny than my honey. In fact, the Honey is quite matte. Nothing like the picture from Saks.com ...And baghag, you were right! It is so much more gorgeous in real life!

I have a question regarding dustbags. Is the Spy supposed to fit snugly in it, or should it be roomy? My petrol came with a large one that is very roomy. This honey came with an impossibly small dustbag. I just barely had to scrunch my Spy to get it to fit into it. I guess it doesn't really matter, but I would have liked a dustbag that actually fit! :innocent:

Wowwwwwww Edna they are soooo beautiful :heart: I'm drooling over my keyboard haha. Petrol is my favourite colour but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Honey as well!!

Edna...one of my bags is really big dustbag and the other is small...I have to shove it in!

I have a honey spy too..its more matte to me but the texture on them is amazing!

edna- i love both your spies. i've always liked the honey, and yours looks gorge! :flower:

all the dust bags i've seen are large. i'm prolly neurotic a/b it, but i wouldn't want the woven handle to get misshapen from being squished inside a small bag.

I got a question, i know this may sound a bit weird..but when you received your spy bags wasnt the handles crossed inside the dust bag...I was just reading ilovepositano post about the small dust bag, vs big dust bag...my dust bag is big , but because it came in a box i think they crossed the handles...although they are not bent not mishaped ..
