Fendi Spy Bag

what's the best way to find a used fendi spy? i am sorta scared of ebay so any other places you guys know off?

My black spy arrived today (will post pics later to show) and I was in love until I spotted a piece of the leather missing from the braided handle. It is really obvious too, because it is on the rear front handle so you can see a brown patch where the piece of leather is missing. Also, there is some kind of mark on the fendi hardware on the braided piece on the front of the bag. It looks like glue?!

I am gutted because I have rang Fendi and they have said that the best they can do is try to call Dublin or Manchester to see if they can get one from there. They are going to call me back tomorrow.

My dilemma now is, if I cant get a replacement black, do I opt for a honey coloured one or the cognac? and will I be able to get hold of either?!

One last thing, has anyone ever ordered from Fendi over the phone before? My spy arrived in just it's black dustbag and in a plain cardboard box. I expected it to come in a Fendi box for some reason?

3 things. congrats! and no they don't come in boxes...just the dust bag. I believe Louis Vuitton is one of the only that comes in a box now.

Also post pics of the handles...since the spy is handwoven...sometimes that happens...

I have the honey and love it as well as the cognac. I love it too!

Either way, I am totally in love with the spy it's just that I now have to make a decision on colour.

cric-croc - That one is fake. The authentic petrol color is more of a teal blue. That one looks more navy. Here's a picture of my petrol so you can see the color.

I am so sorry that you had to encounter a problem with your spy bag..
I just wanted to tell you, that when i first ordered from fendi uk solane street , i got my spy bag in a nice yellow fendi box with the dust bag as well..but when my bbag arrived!!! god oh god...they've put it in the biggest brown cardboard box they could have found...the bag is lost in this HUGE big ugly brown box which costed me over 150 GBP worth shipping...and i was not happy about it...but when my sister ordered her spy bag from this other sa she packed it for her in this beautiful yellow box with blue leather strap...it depends on the sa + their mood, thats my final conclusion...but if u happen to call solane street, most sa's are kinda cranky try margert she is a doll..amazingly sweet and very helpful.

In terms of colour...i would go for the honey over the coganc....there are many black bags and having the spy bag in such an outstanding colour such as the honey adds to its beauty

Thanks for all your advice ladies. I think I am now going to get the honey spy. I love the black but feel this bag would definitely benefit from being showcased in a more better colour than black.
Here (hopefully) is 2 pics of the bag. The 'missing piece' on the handle(which I had to take really close up or it would not show up!) and of the bag itself. I could not get a decent photo of the mark above the fendi logo as my camera just kept blurring the pic.
It was Margaret who dealt with me at Fendi! She is a doll! I am going to ask her when she calls tomorrow if she can send my honey spy in a beautiful Fendi box.

So sorry about your experience...

All of the colors that you are considering are staple colors so they are pretty versitle so what ever way that you go, you really cannot go wrong with any of them.

The honey as guccigal says goes with EVERYTHING because it really doesn't limit you to black or brown, but the congac and black are truly classic in my mind.

Also, as for packaging. When I received my spy it was just in its dustbag and a HUGE brown box, but my SA asked me if I wanted a box and I told her it would be a waste for me.

Guccigal- The spy looks amazing on you and I am so loving your outfit! I think the honey will look a lot more 'eye catching' than the black and besides, I'm already waitlisted for a black patent Chloe betty so that should curb my urge for a black bag!

Ojo- My spy also arrived in the ugly plain brown box. Fendi have just been in touch with me and I am sending it back today in exchange for the honey. I have specified that they check all the hardware and the handles this time. The SA said that she has to show the bag to her manager first before she can issue an exchange! I asked about a fendi box and she told me that the spy does not fit into the fendi boxes????? Am I being fobbed off here?!

I am sending the bag back next day delivery and have asked that when it is recuievd tomorrow, can they send the honey the same day so that Iwill recieve it on friday. So hopefully, I will have pics to post on Friday night!

I'm really excited now about seeing the honey 'in real life' it looks stunning in all the photos I have seen of it.

thanks. the honey color is truly amazing. I wear it with black and brown. Goes with everything in the summer. I do want a dark chocolate for fall...that would be perfect.

I've never received a FENDI box either. Every purchase I've made with FENDI NYC has come in a plain brown box, but has come with a large yellow Fendi shopping bag. The only high end designers that I know for sure have boxes are Hermes, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel.
