FIRST DIBS: Later this month, the clatter of stilettos no doubt will be heard heading to the first Versace Couture sample sale. On Dec. 13-16, shoppers will find the designer's finery at 260 Fifth Avenue with prices slashed by 60 to 70 percent. A $152 knee-length purple silk skirt; a $220 long-sleeve, form-fitting black dress, and a $642 men's chocolate leather trenchcoat will be among the items up for grabs — literally.

I assumed it was Versace Jeans Couture when I got the email, so I didn't look twice.

softgrey are you going to go?

I simply can't imagine that haute couture would be sold in a sample sale... And even if haute couture prices would be slashed by 90% it would still be expensive.

It's probably the American misappropriation of the word "couture" to mean "designer" anything.

that really gets on my nerves:angry: - it's just an excuse to justify overpriced rtw

excuse me....but it is COUTURE...as stated above...
that is why it is a BIG DEAL!!!...hello!!...

...
i would not have posted it otherwise...:)

*fullfrontal...i don't really like versace...som no...i'm not...
but i thought some others here might want to know...

anyway...
the fact that versace is doing this is rather interesting, i thought...
given that they have stopped doing couture and have been having so many financial issues, etc...

Versaces couture is/was incredibly low-priced then, even before a 60-70% reduction those are off-the-rack prices!

Ok, I know softgrey already mentioned this. But I'm just further clarifying this for myself and others I'm sure...

Is it ' ATELIER VERSACE ' or ' GIANNI VERSACE COUTURE '

(not jeans couture! I know :yuk: )
