The layout is weird. Nicole looks over-sized in relation to the masthead and the text. And the outfit is too over-whelming against that background cover. Plus, the empty sleeves kind of freak me out. This could have been a great cover if the editing had been better because I think Nicole looks cute and I like seeing her on fashion magazines but this just doesn't work.

Flare needs to create its own look and stop being so much like Vogue (this time, the March Vogue Lady Gaga background color is enough for me to roll my eyes). Nicole Richie looks awful as well... and Nicole Richie? Very disappointed with Flare this year.

I wish that Flare would use more Canadian models (other than Jessica Stam and Coco Rocha) instead of D-List American celebrities, actually I wish all Canadian fashion magazines would (although Elle Canada seems to be better for that with their Kate King and Alana Zimmer covers recently). Emily VanCamp's cover was bad, but she's at least Canadian. One thing I'll give Flare credit for though is that they haven't used a reprint in AGES, whereas most Elle Canada and Fashion covers are reprints.

Also, this cover reminds me so much of another cover from another magazine that MUST have come out 5 or so years ago. I just can't think of which magazine it was.
