Framed!... The Eyeglasses Thread

i love glasses! i made my mom make me an eye appointment just so i could get them. i don't really need them, i'm just barely nearsighted(sp?) but i'm going to look for glasses on Monday!

Today I went w/ a friend to Morgenthal Fredric's in SoHo, they have gorgeous glasses, he ended up getting a bair of buffalo horn frames but there was nothing that was really...me, you know? I still lust after those Chanels even though they don't look good on me.

As an eye care professional (hehe) I would recommend alain mikli for really gorgeous and original style frames ( http://www.mikli.com/mikli.html ) and for very classic but cool styles chanel, prada and bvlgari is nice too.

right now my everyday glasses are brown tortoiseshell guccis.

i have a small head and a difficult prescription so i have to find the smallest frames possible.

^ Those are cute! This spring I'm planning on getting new glasses and my eye doctor has these white Dior Homme glasses that are thick frame. I'm still not to positive if I will get them since they are just ..... tooo white. I'm so use to always having my black thick frame glasses.

ive had these d&g frames for a while. i like that they look like plastic frames but are actually metal, but now i kinda want real plastic frames now.

They are so cute! I was thinking about them today since I'm so tired of these Armani glasses I have because the logo is right on the side and I'm tired of random girls telling me how much they love my Armani glaseses so I'm thinking of getting the Dior ones since all they have are the bees by the end of the glasses. Its really cute.

I am wanting to get new glasses. I need them for my vision. So what tips do you have? I have a large head, square-ish face, small eyes, medium nose, medium lips, high cheek bones? What would look good? I am going to splurge on a designer pair.....

i think it really depends on your prescription. i have poor vision so i have a thick prescription. i need to pick frames that are small so the lens wont be so thick. my lenses are thinnest in the middle.

keep in mind that if you pick rimless frames they are usually more expensive to make.

I my Chanel frames. I've had them for two years now and I'm still not tired of them, I'm going to get the lenses replaced soon though. The ends are bent so much I had to sit them on top of a book to get a decent picture, apparently I have a small head.

I wear contacts practically every day but every other Saturday or so I wear glasses just to give my eyes a break. I got an Etnia Barcelona pair last year (Raval), love them. But I've recently been ogling some Missoni frames (below) and may have to break down and get them soon. It just seems so expensive for something I wear maybe twice a month, but we'll see.
