Franca Sozzani Dies at 66

I can't believe for this, she was one of the greatest women who changes fashion over the last years.

RIP

Was truly shocked to wake up to this news today.
Franca's death truly leaves a void that will never be filled.
May she rest in peace.

I'm still in shock  She was such an inspiring woman and will be missed in the fashion industry. RIP Franca.

I'm shocked by this truly awful news. With tears in my eyes I say rest in peace, Franca.

May 2017 bring us less of this awful news.

May you Rest In Peace, Franca.

What a strong woman. Imagine being ill, having to stay in the hospital at times, while continuing to edit Vogue, and keeping up appearances. Truly dedicated and passionate. She could have simply retired, but a big salute to her for fighting until the very end.

I may have been very critical over her work for the last few years, but I myself cannot deny how Franca was part of the movement that defined fashion. Her vision will be greatly missed.

Based on Anna's words, she seemed to be greatly ill. It now makes me wonder if there was an interim editor that was appointed to oversee everything then Franca approving it when the issue is just done. I highly doubt that she became that active in all the aspects of the magazine.

This maybe explains why Vogue Italia felt so lost this 2016 and worsened every month.

And my goodness, Anna's words brought me to tears. That watch part made me cry.

This is all too sudden. What happens to Vogue Italia now? Who will succeed her? Did she give out a name as to who she wishes to succeed her? Vogue Italia is such a big magazine and a huge responsibility to be left in the hands of a newcomer. I don't have the slightest idea as to who will be perfect for the job.

What happens to Meisel now? Would he be back as the staple photographer or would his semi-retirement be permanent?

When is the last issue? So many questions.

It has been hours since I found out and I still feel gutted. Tragic day in a tragic year. RIP Franca, you will be unbelievably missed.

^ I'm just finding out, I was running all day. I reread the title several times..:mellow::cry:

I'm shocked and almost shaking. :(

RIP Franca.

In the early nineties, Vogue Italia was everything to me, it was a vision of another world. The memory of those times is deep in my mind, and will always be with me.

Even now, I have the occasional dream where I discover old copies of the magazine in a second-hand shop, and I feel the same joy and excitement as I did the first time I ever saw a copy of VI. No other magazine has ever gripped my imagination in the same way.

So, so sad. I have no words. Literaly this woman changed my life, she gave me hope. Thanks to her I knew what good fashion is. I've always defended her, even in the last couple of years with the changes of VI. Oh God, this is so bad... Another idol that I will never met in person.

RIP Madame Sozzani. I will never forget you.

RIP Franca. You brought so much beauty into the world and you inspired so many people. Your legacy is legendary and we won't forget you!

She will be truly greatly missed. R.I.P Franca. Your great contribution to the fashion industry will be priceless treasure to all of us forever.

Franca Sozzani brought to life a vision, a dream of fashion, shaped by daring and brillance and style. Since the 80s she shaped fashion through the pages of Italian Vogue. She gave a platform to the top image makers, models, and designers of our times. There is a space that cannot be filled. Devastating. Goodbye Franca.

For me def. one of the best creatives in history of fashion magazines.
It a great, great loss for whole fashion and art world.

And I think the fact that almost nobody know she was sick makes it even harder: we did not expect that. Escepcialy because she was always so positive & angelic.

I woke up today morning, opened internet and it hits me again - she is no longer here. Really hard to imagine fashion and VI without her.

I read about it yesterday and I felt gutted all night. RIP Franca you were an inspiration to so many people.
