^Yeah, I have always thought the same thing. Frida is more beautiful, but maybe Elle could grow up into Frida!

I've always found them very similar as well, obviously completely different physiques, but it'll be interesting to see how Elle matures facially. Both incredibly beautiful that's for sure

Anyway, looks like we'll be seeing Frida in Milan after all :D

Shooting with the lovely Mirte today in London, jetting off to Milan tonight. See you all there!! #FW12

@fridagustavsson

Wonder what they are shooting?

Hey guys, look what I've found on her twitter ):

Sometimes life acts in ways you couldn't expect and AMAZING this happen, unfortunately this means I will most probably not be in Milan...

I wonder what happened, I'll miss her in Milan! :(

I was about to post it, sad that she won't be in Milan, but at least is for a good thing this time!

I'm a little confused as to what is going on with Frida..

She looks extremely haggard this show season in New York and she didn't do most of the shows that I was expecting to see her at this season.. Isn't she always at Marc by Marc Jacobs?? Oscar De La Renta??

I do like her appearance at Giles though.. That gown is completely gorgous!! I love the burnt effect..

But I don't know how I feel about her not being so pupular with the Italin designers (at least in my opinion) and now she's skipping Milan for the third? season in a row now..

I don't know, I found her showlist to be quite impressive and selective, although I was kinda surprised not to see her at M by MJ or ODLR like you said, but it didn't really matter in the end. I thought she looked stunning opening and closing Anna Sui, at Y-3 and Ralph Lauren and while closing Michael Kors, not to mention walking Alexander Wang with such a great cast.

She is skipping Milan again due to something 'amazing' that came up, so I'm sure she's making the right decision under the guidance of her management (if the opportunity is work related). She certainly isn't strapped for cash and walking a crazy amount of shows isn't as crucial to her anymore. She mentioned in her recent interview that she would be walking less shows, for example. Milan is not the be all and end all, quite a few other models are skipping this season as well (Abbey, Karlie, possibly Jac etc). I'll wait to see her in Paris ^_^

Anyway, she moved up to #17 on models.com for anyone interested, so she must be doing something right

I don't know but i don't know if believe it or not. I mean she skipped 3 seasons in a row Milan for big opportunites. And which are? I never seen her in a Vogue cover. Campaigns is too early. Maybe i'm too bad but i think she skips Milan always because she knows few designers will cast her. Every season she has an opportunity?? Natasha Poly is in the industry from 2003 and she's doing big shows every season in Milan. One season it's possible, but it's her 3rd season without Milan. Who's she? Gisele Bundchen? :o

She's had Vogue China and Vogue Germany cover (not the blue chip Vogues but still more than some models from her time have. Plus she is a regular in Vogue US and has been featured in Vogue Italia and Vogue Paris etc... she's certainly not a stranger to Vogue, but that's kind of off topic

One of the times she skipped Milan was due to personal reasons, I'm not 100% sure what the second time was in regards to the 'big opportunity', things don't always work out as planned. Who knows. Plus this time she seemed very intent on Milan if her twitter was anything to go by, and actually seemed really excited about it, and disappointed that she was going to miss it. She has done very well in Milan in the past, some people in this thread believe it is her best city...

Sure I may be bias, but I just trust that she's making the right decision.

Her best city? She has never done Gucci, Prada, Roberto Cavalli and Versace just one times or two?!?!?
If you don't do this shows you're not doing great

Some people have said that yes, I'm not saying that I agree or not. Just food for thought.

Anyway, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on the state of her career and her standing with Milan designers? I don't see skipping Milan as that big a deal, and I'm not at all worried about her never walking Prada or Gucci. She did the Prada campaign without walking Prada... how many regulars on the Prada runway have never done the campaign? I know which one I'd prefer ($$$)

Enough updates from me about this, I'll just repeat that I'm looking forward to seeing her on the runways again in Paris and that I wish her the best!

agreed with everything you said

Ah geez lol hexagon_sun basically summed up all of my thoughts.

She looks extremely haggard this show season in New York and she didn't do most of the shows that I was expecting to see her at this season.. Isn't she always at Marc by Marc Jacobs?? Oscar De La Renta??

God forbid hard work, traveling, and irregular hours catch up with an 18 year old girl.
I don't see how missing MbMJ (she did show up at MJ after all) and ODLR downgraded the quality of her show list, she still walked the majority of her usual shows and seeing Frida back at Wang was a nice surprise.

Also, I wouldn't say that Milan is her weakest city. Walking Gucci and Prada is not all that crucial. Many models do just fine without them. I mean MCB has been around for ages and debuted at Prada not too long ago.
Plus, I've never seen Frida as a Prada girl, despite her fitting the FW11 collection perfectly.
I think reading her most recent interview should clear up most of the concerns, it seems like Frida and her booker are good at what they're doing and they certainly know better than us, no?
