can gap be more creative with their ads?

they have not used big name models for years.
i am surprised they are actually using Inez and Vinood. Bet they told them to make the campaign as cheap as possible.

But Gap have worked a lot with I&V the last ten years, so why is it suprising now?

^GAP has always been cheap which is why agents stopped getting big name models to do it

I really don't think they are cheap bc they have used lots of celebs in the pasts and celebs are many times more expensive than models. they generate billions of dollar in sale every year so im sure they can afford any model that they wanted.

it's not just their ads but their clothes and their stores' decorations are stuck in the past too.

I think they just stick to their timeless-classic-unchanged strategy. they want their clothes to be the focal point of their ads instead of models or settings.

^Celebs are obviously paid more than models because their presence can actively increase revenue. They're probably just cheap.

Full cast: Adam Driver, Cora Emmanuel, Dree Hemingway, Ian Mellencamp, and Khadija Otero.

In the not-too-distant past, Gap has used Anja Rubik, Sasha Pivovarova, Liu Wen, Sean O'Pry, etc., so it's not as though they never spend money on more in-demand models.

That said, they're not the kind of brand the NEEDS of-the-moment models in their campaigns. They're known for jeans and wearable, affordable casual clothing for the middle class. I worked at Gap when I was in college and I was the only employee at the smallish store I worked at who even knew who Anja Rubik was y name. I'm sure most of their target demographic doesn't know the difference between a good model who wears the clothes well and a very-famous-in-the-fashion-world good model who wears the clothes well. Adam Driver is probably a better use of their money than the people that a more exclusive brand might use. I don't think it's them being cheap, I think it's them being smart.

Gap has a long relationship with Inez and Vinoodh they've shot the campaign multiple times over the years.

In fact they usually use pretty big photographers - I&V, Mikael Jansson, Josh Olins, Annie Leibovitz and Daniel Jackson have all worked for Gap recently.

Though I do think that they don't really let people know who is working with them - I feel like when H&M works with Mert and Marcus they tell the whole world, or when M&M shoot for Mango the whole world knows, yet Gap works with a pretty long list of big names and it is a little under radar.

There is one close-up shot of Khadija that I always see on the sides of the bus but can never seem to find it online.
