Ok, I just got back from seeing Pirates, and I have to agree with all of the superlatives regarding Gemma. Her role is so painfully brief, but incredibly memorable. She looked absolutely stunning, Has there ever been a more beautiful girl? I knew who she was, but there are going to be millions of people who watch this film who don't know Gemma, and are going to demand to see more of her. I can imagine millions of people walking out of theaters everywhere asking " who was that beautiful blonde mermaid?" and then going home and googling Gemma Ward.

All these old pics have me missing her sooo much!!! i think the way the fashion industry treated her was unfair but she's a coward for letting that stop her coming back. i know its harsh but there are a lot of designers like zac posen who'd work with her. ** i know she wants to be a successful actress but that shouldn't stop her from being a model. just look at liya kebede or better yet amber valletta. she just walked the louis vuitton fw 2011 2012 show & she looked hot. maybe she could rethink her modeling career by changing up her look or doing stuff like sports illustrated or victoria secrets. i'd love to see her in the vsfs. i just wanna see her take back her crown & be back on top.

Sorry, but it's the edge of egoism to call her a coward just because you would like to see her modelling again.

I love her too, she's practically my favourite model all the time and it would be a dream come true to see her on the catwalks, but it's her choice to focus on acting and calling her a coward in this situation sounds more than silly to me.

Erm......she's a coward.....how???
Because she decided to focus on something else. Maybe she just had enough of the constant slog that it takes to stay at the top in this business.......but who knows anyway. She hasn't really spoken about it so everything would be speculation.......but one thing's for sure, she is anything but a coward for making her OWN decisions.
Good luck to her in whatever direction her career goes from now.

Like what others have said previously, Gemma chose to go into acting. She's not a "coward" for doing what she wants to do - when she was still modelling seriously, she has said plenty of times that acting is what she really loves.

Of course I miss seeing her more in fashion editorials or in runways, but as fans, aren't we meant to respect her choices?

i agree! i definitely wouldn't call her a coward for making that decision to drop modelling for now atleast, and pursue acting

if anything, that was a very bold & courageous decision for her to make which i fully respect. i mean, if she didn't feel passionate about it anymore, i would hate for her to stay in the fashion world solely to please her cult following.
