i really hopw she'll crawl out of her hole someday and make a comeback, if she doesn't want to be a model anymore that's fine (although sad for us) but i'd love to see her work as an actress again

They’ve shared the fashion limelight from New York to Paris but Australian model Jessica Gomes says she doesn’t expect to see her close friend Gemma Ward back on the modelling circuit for some time.
“Gemma is taking a break away from modelling after Heath (Ledger) passed away,” Gomes said.

It is more than a year since the actor’s death yet Ward’s grief shows no sign of lifting.
Gomes and Ward, both Perth girls, were on holiday together at Byron Bay when a curvaceous Ward was photographed emerging from the surf in a swimsuit last month.
Ward, who was linked to the actor at the time of his death and has not modelled since, is yet to indicate when or if she’ll be returning to the business and was conspicuously absent from New York Fashion Week this week.

i don't know how recent that quote from gomes is, but it's really sad. hope gemma is doing fine and has her loved ones helping her through this time...
and all these people who joke about her weight/not making a comeback this season...the "perfect" body isn't everything and models are also just normal people who grief and when you loose a very close friend (maybe more) that's the last thing you think about. so no matter how much i wish for gemma to come back, the most important thing is her mental "health" so please get better honey
