In that picture, is that Alek Wek, Caroline Winberg, Nicole Trunfio, Gemma Ward, Lily Donaldson, and who's the last girl?
I don't think they would all be at a San Francisco Fashion Week...
Yay, another role for Gemma! I don't mind if it's small. I'm sure her breakout role will be very soonThe important thing is she's happy and living her dream. It's clear at this point that modeling was never what she wanted to do with her life. She was plucked from Perth SO young, it's no wonder she became disillusioned with it. How many of us started working at 16, or even are doing what we thought we wanted to do at 16?
It does make me sad, though, that models aren't more famous in Hollywood. She had such a HUGE modeling career that people can be downers about her small acting parts, but we have to remember that outside of the fashion world, most models aren't a household name (the way they were in the 90s) so Gemma is not as famous to the average person as she is to people who love fashion.
But, you know, I think that probably suits her fine. She doesn't seem like the kind of person who wants to be recognized everywhere!
.. l forget that she was only like 14, 15 when she got started & she probably got disillusioned especially after the unnecessary & totally uncalled for backlash she received when she walked her last chanel show.
I don't understand why models would be known in Hollywood at all. Two totally different industries. It does make me sad, though, that models aren't more famous in Hollywood.
dailytelegraph.com.auFORMER supermodel Gemma Ward has spent the past week settling into her new Sydney digs on the eve of embarking on her next acting foray.
Having relocated to the Harbour City from her hometown of Perth, the retired catwalk darling was spotted smoking, shopping and lunching around town yesterday before being required on set of The Great Gatsby, which many are heralding as the start of her Hollywood career.
But the 24-year-old may have to forsake her signature blonde locks to make it happen.
If Fox Studios scuttlebutt is to be believed, Ward will play the part of Catherine Wilson (sister to Isla Fisher's Myrtle) who - as portrayed in F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel - is a fiery red-head.
Fans of the American classic will know Catherine is described as having a "solid, sticky bob of red hair, and a complexion powdered milky white".
Personally I have never liked Gemma's street fashion at all, but if she is happy with it that is what matters...
She doesn't look well.
