Report: Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell gives birth to daughter

Mon May 15, 08:35 PM EST

LONDON (AP) - Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has given birth to a baby girl, a tabloid newspaper reported.

The baby was born Sunday at London's Portland Hospital, according to a report Monday in the Sun newspaper. Halliwell, 33, also known as Ginger Spice, was a member of the popular all-female pop rock group in the 1990s.

The Associated Press could not confirm the baby's birth.

The Portland Hospital refused to confirm or deny whether Halliwell was a patient.

The baby's father, Hollywood scriptwriter Sacha Gervasi, 40, was not present for the delivery, the newspaper said.

Say What???!!!!!???

Ok, just when I thought it couldn't get any worse than Apple, Scout, Moses, etc..... (from perezhilton:(

This is just unfortunate!
In keeping with the grand tradition of celebrities giving their children f*cked up names, Geri Halliwell has named her beautiful new baby girl Bluebell Madonna Halliwell.
Why????
We will not stand for this anymore!!!
From now on, we shall rename any celebrity offspring with shiteous names.
So... what shall we call Geri's new cute lil' lady??

Sounds a bit too much like Blue Balls for my taste....
but congrats to her!!

Bluebell is kinda cute..."Blue" for short is actually pretty nice.

But "Madonna"? Ugh:huh:

I thought the name was a joke when I first heard it, but I guess it's true!:o

Bluebell Madonna? whats up with these stars naming their kids weird names. I know they are trying to come up with unique names but....I dont know what to say its a stupid name to be honest.

there is a picture of her on the front of either ok or hello a uk maagzine .. one them anyways and she is such a little cutie :flower:

Bluebell Madonna is a BEAUTIFUL name! So feminine and pretty! I highly encourage people to start using more creative names such as this. The world needs the variety. :flower: And perhaps then people will stop thinking everything is "weird".

i heard that the father is not even suppose to participate in the life of this little girl.. who knows then

it makes me think about ice cream b/c we have a local brand here called bluebell....haha.

bluebell is a name you give a cow. not a person. as for madonna? ugh. we all know halliwell has no taste but really..

I know when I heard bluebell i thought of a cow first, like cow bell. I dont know. I wonder why she gave her daughter that name, it must mean something.

I didnt notice the meaning hadnt been posted before. Its part of the reason I think its cute.

She said while she was pregnant she saw bluebells (the flowers) everywhere and her mother told her that was strange because those flowers are rare so she thought it meant something. Also, she said that Bluebell reminds her of Bonnie Bluebell, the daughter of her favorite heroine Scarlett O'Hara. She said she picked Madonna as the middle name because when the baby was born she was crying and flailing her arms dramatically and making this grand entrance into the world. She didnt say anything about the singer Madonna but I'm sure she idolizes her and that may have had something to do with it.
