Giorgio Armani F/W 2020.21 Milan

Those prints...Armani is always tasteless when it come to using prints. As much as he is good with neutrals, he is a disaster with prints.

The label is likely still doing solidly since it’s a household name and coveted by the masses. However, Gio’s eye for design, color and proportion-- and prints, is long long long behind him now. And his once gorgeous brand of effortless, easygoing chic in plush fabrication and even lusher tones has been consistently replaced by a frumpy mother-of-the-bride sensibility and the ugliest color-palette from any brand (the very fact that one of his HC collections featured these hats that look just like a dog took a dump on the models' head really shows how alarmingly clueless he's become). Creatively, this is a label that is screaming for a new designer. Nothing works for Armani anymore.

To me Armani has always stood for simplicity and modernity, yet, for the past 15 years at least, it has been anything but that. Stuffy, over-embellished and more dated every season. Many of these outfits belong to the Bold and the Beautiful costume department in 1994.

I always wonder what the future will be like for the brand. It’s obvious he won’t be around for many years to come.
