Giorgio Armani Menswear S/S 2026 Milan

CHIC! CLASSIC! PERFECT! I want every single piece.

^^^My god Tyrone, you're just evil!

Maybe his mainline isn’t as flashy/shiny/gaudily attention seeking as his Emporio costumes. But it’s timelessly and reassuringly classic for the men that have likely been loyal from the day they made enough to afford his wears and the lifestyle that goes with it. His taste in 80s wallpaper prints as garment prints still makes me instinctively gag, but the pragmatic offerings of suitings/trench/jackets in his signature liquidy drapes and volume haven’t lost their charm even after all these decades. And he may be the only designer that’s designed a convincingly full-cut, draped leather pant— and one that will be available at retail to boot. That’s not something that can be said for the majority of brands nowadays.

(…I wonder if Gio himself is aware that none of those Emporio pretty textiles but horrendously-proportioned designs that unfortunately result in resembling costumes for a gaudy Vegas production of Aladdin, will make it to retail cuz Emporio’s devolved and settled into the junior wannabe-professional’s wardrobe staples for over a decade now.)

It’s not necessarily modern or beautiful. I wouldn’t buy a piece from Armani runway for my husband but I guess it’s reassuring.
But then again, I’m not sure the Armani man goes there for this or for a look.

I feel like the spirit of Armani is maybe more modern at Umit Benan.

Feels like dead stock from his 80s heydays (mothballs not included).

He does know his way around a luxuriously slouchy men’s pant, without it looking pathetically juvenile.

Mind you, there is a lot of slouch here. Too much for my liking. Shame that some of the textiles from Emporio weren’t used here. Certainly could have benefited from them to veer away from the colour palette and prints. I don’t know what it is with him and shades of lavender and fuschia, and with that teal I think of the worst of the worst Memphis art.

Who is the designer for the Armani Spring Summer 2025 Collection? He doesn't look familiar.

I know it's classic Armani, but there is a line at which this collection become monotonous. That many iterations of draping makes the whole thing feel drab. I think that's why I've never been into his menswear. It's often just beige.

Leo Dell'Orco

whose real name is Pantaleo Dell'Orco, was born on November 2, 1952, in Bisceglie (Bari province), southern Italy.
He heads the Armani Group's men's design studio and has been Giorgio Armani's right-hand man for decades.

He has been at Giorgio Armani's side for over 45 years.

Armani on Dell'Orco: "The person I confided my most private thoughts to"

The press release from the fashion house last Friday:

"On the occasion of the Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani fashion shows on Saturday and Monday, June 23, we would like to inform you that Mr. Armani, who is currently recovering at home, will not be present at the two shows as usual. In his place, Leo Dell'Orco, responsible for the design of the men's lines, will greet the audience at the end of the fashion shows," the statement read."

Love the colors here. We’ve seen it all before but it’s a million times better than the crap churned out at Louis Vuitton. And I love the fact there is 116 looks. It makes me miss the days of YSL 150 looks show lol these new designers do 25 looks and think they’ve done something. Call back when you can afford to do more and provide more.
