Gisele Bundchen

so sad that her last runway appearence (in at least a long while) was for Colcci, terrible outfits LOL
Is the blonde little girl her niece?

I think she will appear on the runway again, maybe in a few years, famous people always say it's my last time ever...

And yes it was a shame it was for Colcci :ninja:

I always wanted her last runway to be Dolce&Gabbana or Versace, cuz I love her the most on their runways, but she decided Colcci to be the last show and I can understand her reasons.

I still hope to see her some major brand runways from time to time ^_^

yeah, kokobombon, that little girl is her niece.

I'm sure she'll make an appearance on the runway again. Natalia V "retired" as well and then popped up for Cavalli's 40th Anniversary show. I remember WWD saying she received between $67,000-$94,000 for walking that show. Same thing will happen with Gisele...

She has already said in Portuguese interviews never say never, shes just closing a chapter for now and wants to focus on other projects. Its the American media who is making it out to be her "retirement". I'm just gld she's done finally with Colcci, I think she wont walk for them anymore, phew.

Gisele Isn’t Retiring from Runway, Says Her Agent

Since mid-March, it’s been reported that the most supermodel-y of all supermodels, Gisele Bündchen, would be retiring from the runway following Sao Paulo fashion week. The 34-year-old all but confirmed the rumors Wednesday, posting a sad-looking photo of herself during her first-ever runway show at age 14 with the caption, “I am grateful that at 14, I was given the opportunity to start this journey. Today after 20 years in the industry, it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business.”

Her husband Tom even wrote her a nice little send-off. Then, with all the other models at the Colcci show sporting shirts emblazoned with photos of her perfectly angular face, Bündchen shed a tear on her final runway, EVER.

…Or was it?

Thursday, the New York Times spoke with Bündchen’s long-time agent, Anne Nelson—who wasn’t so fast to call Colcci the site of her client’s last catwalk strut.

According to Nelson, though Bündchen hasn’t been keen on doing runway for quite a while (as evidenced by her scarcity there over the last decade), she’s only officially “clos[ing] the chapter on the Brazilian runway.”

“I think a lot of people will still want her on the runway,” Nelson said. “Will she want to do it? That’s a whole other story. It would have to come within an interesting angle, a unique opportunity. Will she do it? I can’t guarantee that. But that people will call for her, yes.

“It is important that we continue to work on all kinds of capacities within the fashion industry,” she continued. “It’s also important that, as her representative, we bring every interesting opportunity her way. We’ll continue to do exactly that going forward.”

So, she’s just done walking in Brazil? Innnnteresting…

Nelson also revealed that Bündchen will soon be joining famous author Kim Kardashian on the shelves at Barnes & Noble: This fall, she’ll release a book chronicling her two-decade-long modeling career.

Could this mean we might be seeing Bündchen surprise-showing up at the next Paris Fashion Week in October after all? We’ll have to wait and see—but at the very least, there should be some book signings to look forward to.

So it was just a publicity stunt from Colcci/Gisele after all because they come with a statement after the show

this was basically already said in Giseles interviews recently. she said "never say never", just closing a chapter etc etc. The media took a different angle, as usual.

Neymar left a nice message

Unfortunately we will not have more on the runways .. But she left a legacy and took the name of Brazil in the pro world fashion ... Congratulations on career giseleofficial .. And thank you for the affection with my family !! Stay with God .. kiss in the family

^ "The day I retire will be the day I die There's so much I want to live, that life is so fantastic. so much to create in my life. I am simply creating a space, taking the decision to stop parading because I am 'emptying the cup' a little to give the opportunity of life to show me other things . "

before the runway show i was telling myself "let me guess, colcci will put her in a hideous logo t shirt" and i was right.

it was probably a mistake for her to release a statement that says "it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice" meaning that contractual obligations are a bore or hardship.

i am hoping that this "retirement" publicity means that they are planning a splashy launch of a new product line in the states - for instance the gisele intimates line.

her husband says they are planning on staying in boston (when they aren't in NY or costa rica or at any of their other homes). you can read about his statement here.
