Givenchy F/W 2015.16 by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

When I saw the title names I was OMG in a negative way, but it's quite nice in a down to earth way.

This looks confusing ...

Not sure whether I like it or not

It looks more like a collaboration preview

OMG hopefully the Kristen's post on Instagram of Riccardo means something

Oh just his post on Instagram recently posted Natalia and Kristen I just wish they could appear in this campaign:flower:

Well, it's FW15 Givenchy Family Campaign so I think anything could happen.

So strange she would be in an ad campaign for another brand!!! She is wearing Givenchy for sure here? I had no idea they are friends, so this came as a shock thread title.

I'm confused by this but i love Donatella.
I would love to see Riccardo doing the Versace campaign too.

Riccardo being the next designer of Versace could be great too...but i'm still confused.

i appreciate the trolling effort. it's a smart move, it'll get people talking for ever and ever lmao.

I think i'm more confused by seeing Riccardo in the campaign of Givenchy. I mean, i'm used to designers being the face of their own brands (Karl, Tom, Ysl...etc.).
We all know that their work is mostly about them but i find it weird for him to be in the campaign which is not his even if he is it creative director.

I don't know, I'm a bit sad of seeing nothing relate to Givenchy at Givenchy these days.

I was confused at first to see the thread title...

but upon seeing it, this is iconic! 2 designers, 2 fashion houses, 1 photo!! Ah and Mert's caption that "Love breaks every rule" is just perfect.

But isn't this a bit of a misrepresentation for the Versace brand? I mean Donatella VERSACE wearing Givenchy...

This is a very smart move, they will now have double the PR pushing this campaign.

I do hope there are more campaign stars, to really drive home the fact that this is a friends/"family" campaign, because this image will lead some to think they are launching a collaboration.

I like this woman and the idea of having her in a campaign for a brand that isn't hers, but I'm more confused about what this particular photograph is meant to express regarding Givenchy. Because she's not positioned as a Givenchy woman here, just a very close friend of the designer. Quite confusing, can't wait to know more.

I'm not sure what to make of this, it's so baffling. So much that my bias towards these two (both negative and positive) prevents me from actually regarding this shot. I kept going 'what the what?".

I'll agree with yet another of your many accurate assertions though: I don't see 'Givenchy' in any of this. Actually, Tisci's creative control has gradually deviated this brand away from it's core. Perhaps this is the new movement in fashion? Raze the essence of a brand to the ground and start afresh, capitalizing solely on it's household prestige?

This will be another on of those oddly cast campaigns, I'm sure.
