Givenchy Stops Couture Collection

And here I am thinking that Madonna was wearing JPG.. Anyway, this really boils down to the financial aspect of the house. They just couldn't afford the couture expenses anymore. I strongly believe that the cost they incurred is so miles away from the sales they're getting on their couture line. On the other hand, I don't really solely blame Tisci on it. It's a complex thing and they just didn't go well.

One of Beyonce's stage outfits... another outfit based on a previous design

Givenchy’s Second Couture No-Show

By Ella Alexander

GIVENCHY will not show at Couture Fashion Week for a second season due to creative director Riccardo Tisci's busy schedule. The brand will still continue to create couture for personal clients and is currently in the process of enlarging its atelier, WWD reports.

Givenchy announced that it was taking a break from its couture activity in December 2012 - ceasing its intimate presentations, which were formerly a mainstay of the couture schedule - in order to concentrate on the fashion house's ready-to-wear line. The news was somewhat unexpected, considering Tisci's fervent interest in the couture arm of the business.

The designer was honoured earlier this week at the 2013 CFDA Awards in New York, when he was given the International Designer prize.

"due to creative director Riccardo Tisci's busy schedule" LOL

I'm more and more disappointed with this guy. His latest collections for the house were such a letdown compared to what he did just a couple of years ago. I wish he would move on from his current Kanye West/american rapper inspiration and starts producing quality clothes again.
