I really wish Hitchcock put her in North by Northwest. Then she'd be in one of my favorite movies of all time.

My understanding is that he tried everything to get her in it and could not...As you know, he had an almost sick love for her and I am sure Cary would have been happy to have done it with her, but for various reasons she could not or would not do it...It was not Hitchcock's decision by any means...

I love Hitch, but I hate North by Northwest, although Grace would have been great in it. Eva Marie Saint was not good in it. Grace would have killed it in the birds.

Great picture. Thanks for posting it! We are the exact opposite. I think North by Northwest is a masterpiece while The Birds has always made me feel underwhelmed after watching it. I wouldn't have liked Grace in that movie.

same here! I would have liked to see her in North by Northwest, she had such chemistry with Cary Grant in To Catch a Thief. Im glad she wasnt in The Birds. I never liked that movie, and I wouldnt want to see Grace being attacked by birds

From what I hear the real Cary Grant was very different than the screen Cary Grant. Cary himself said he wished he was Cary Grant. I can't believe how many people dislike "The Birds"! I frakkin love that movie! It is one of Hitchcock's best!

Oh, don't wish that on Grace!! I am maybe the biggest Cary Grant fan in the world, but he was not at all like he was on screen in his private life...The stories from his friends and such are legion- not a bad guy but very unpredictable and some serious personality issues...Grace had it tough enough with Rainer!!

in some angles, i do think Eva Marie Saint looks like Grace, is that one of reason that she was chosen instead of Grace in the movie? Actually there's a pic of Eva kissing Cary in the movie that completely makes me mix her to Grace ...aiya...i can't find that pic
