[Theory]

em gets hyped for one reason and one reason only...sad to say..and everyone knows what that reason is.....there have been many before him who have done the very same thing...this isn't to knock ems talent or accomplisments, i applaud him for doing so in such a field, but america overall had been waiting to annoit someone of his um....lets say.....background as the greatest thing to come into the rap world.....you always have to view these things with the backdrop of amer. society in mind.

as for kanye, he is extremely cocky and i just don't care for him personally....his touting himself as the best thing ever is a bit sickening so wewill see if his hubris gets in the way of actually winning awards...

well..okay...i wasnt going to say it, but ill say it for the both of us...em gets hyped because he is white...its the only reason why he has been able to sustain himself this long...he is a white dude with skills...and because of this, rap fans, the majority of whom are suburban white kids, eat him up....if eminem were african american, he would have been gone soon after "my name is"....there are MANY, MANY rappers who have better skills and better rhymes but since they aint white, they aint alright..

but one thing that I commend eminem for and which separates him from other white musicians who "steal" music originated in African American culture: he appreciates the rappers who came before him and has publicly acknowledged the debt he owes to the great rappers, ie masta ace, ll cool j, eric b and rakim...he isnt like elvis who simply stole african american music and did not give credit to the musicians who originated the sound he was making money off of

I'd like to see N*E*R*D winning the Urban/Alternative . I love N*E*R*D.
And also Kanye, he is talented.
