A creative jack-of-all-trades, Emmy Mees graduated in 1999 from the fashion department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
Since 1996 she has participated in several projects such as the Wireworks exhibition in the ModeMuseum in Hasselt (1996), a shoe project for Coca Cola (1997), Vitrine and Geometrie (1999) both for the Flanders Fashion Institute.
In August 2000 Emmy Mees began her freelance career, not only as a fashion designer (cf. Antonio Pernas (2001)), Kampf NV (since 2002), but also as a web designer, multimedia designer and illustrator.
The list of clients she designed websites for includes Walter Van Beirendonck, Modenatie - Flanders Fashion Institute, the fashion department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, the Academy fashion shows since 2002, Bruno Pieters, Anna Heylen and DMT architects (who designed Dries Van Noten’s Modepaleis and the Godfried warehouse). She also made projections/slideshows for the duo Ronald Stoops and Inge Grognard (commissioned by the FFI) and for several students of the Antwerp fashion academy.
Her illustrations appeared in publications such as Bizz Magazine, N°D Magazine (FFI), De Morgen Magazine + newspaper + brochure, Beste Dingen (De Tijd), Feeling (Feb. 2005).
